I hate to bring it up because it seems to be a fairly common question, I searched and decide I was maxing out my MAF because I have been hitting the nasty cut at 4000rpm (or so). So then I remembered that there was a 50% chance i had a NA MAF. So I went to my shop and pulled the MAF and M's cone adaptor with a big velocity stack off of another CA18DET clip... so the car pulled to redline smooth on 13psi (s14 turbo). I had the car on the dyno today and it was cutting on me again, but on the street I can drive around the cut as long as I ease the car up to 4 grand...So my question is if this the result of a overworked AFM why does it cut in a small section of the powerband? It seems logical that it would cut out at full boost at any point above the initial cut.I don't expect anyone to give me a perfect explaination I am just looking for more input than "you need a Z32 MAF"

the stock ECU map also has a cutoff based on RPM bands for max airflow reading, if you go over this it cuts fuel. If you make too much power too low it'll cut on you.

Yeah, a new ROM with the fuel cut removed and better maps would benefit the most, getting you away from that problem. This is the advice I learned from here...
