Need help with turbo timer

[Structure240sx]

i was tryin to put my older model hks turbo time in today with the hks harness i got from enjuku. i plugged the harness into the plug under the sterring collum behind the steering wheel, the only connect to the actual ignition. the harness has 7 connectors while the plug on the steering wheels has 8. i plugged it all in grounded the TT but the car wouldnt turn on. there is also a gray wire that comes off the TT that i dont knwo what to do with. think maybe the TT is jsut broke?
