I think it's the heater portion of the 02 sensor. Is the code P0031? Try taking it off and inspecting/cleaning all the wires and put it back in. Did you do anything to the engine that could have possibly damaged the wiring??

It could also be an intermittent problem so leave it for a week or so and see if it goes away. If not, then do like I suggested before and see if you can clean it.

how many miles on the car?

Modified?

Is the car running very rich, or Very lean, as in poor gas mileage, or much better then usual?

Does your exhuast manifold ever glow red?

Are there any unusual hissing noises in the engine compartment?

Are you getting a Bank 1 and Bank 2 code?

Clean up the connector on the top 2 o2 sensors, with the Battery diconnected. Disconnecting the battery will do 2 things for you. It will clear the light, and allow you to fiddle with the electrical connector with out causing additional problems.

If bank 1 and Bank 2 codes are found, Suspect MAF sensor. Other possible causes, Vacuum leak, high or low fuel pressure, Timing condition, poor fuel condition, dirty or damaged electrical connector, or bad Oxygen Sensor.

i have about 36,048 miles on the car. i am only getting the bank 1 sensor 1. i have a short ram intake, cat back, and jet maf. it is running kinda rich but that is to be expected in north dakota when it is only 15 degrees. i dont really hear anything unusual from the engine. the gas mileage seems to be normal

what would cause an o2 sensor to fail. this is the second time that it has thrown this code. is there anything i can do to prevent this from happening.

O2 sensors fail on occasion. That you'd have one, much less two (did you replaced it or did it go away?) in an 07 is a bit nutty though.

i replaced one a little bit after i got it then it is throwing a code right now. i am driving it around for a little while to see if it was a short or to cold but if it keeps throwin the code i will have it replaced.
