need help with 82 datsun 720 turn signal problem

Hi.

Having trouble with turn signals on 82 datsun 720.

Bought the truck. Turn signals, brake lights, running lights were unplugged.

Plugged turn signal into fixture- worked. Unplugged.

Plugged brake lights, running lights into fixture - both worked.

Added turn signal to brake lights and running lights.

Stepped on brakes and turn signals no longer worked.

Thinks something shorted and can't find relay for turn signal.

Bought a new turn signal flasher and installed. Shows it's getting current but still no turn signals.

Fuses look good.

Any help appreciated.

My guess is a short somewhere along the way. There shouldn't be anything wrong with the relays nor fuses, really... just a crossed wire somewhere down the line. The only problem is figuring out where.

Thanks for responding.

Found out the problem was the four way flasher/hazard switch.

Moving it slightly towards the on position solved the problem.

Found the info here in post #11 if anyone has a similar issue.
