I've been studying the FSM's (and my observations of my ecu wires) and gotten the info below: Just trying to make sure I get all the wires hooked up right....

I am fairly certain these connections will be correct...they seem easy enough:

RB20 engine -----------------------------------------------------------1993 auto D21 KA 4cyl

pin 7 TACH (yellow/red) -----------------------------------------------pin 2 TACH (white)pin 53 SPEEDOMETER (yellow/green) -------------------------------pin 32 SPEEDOMETER (white/blue)pin 18 FUEL PUMP RELAY (black/pink) -------------------------------pin 104 FUEL PUMP RELAY (white/red)pin 44 NEUTRAL SWITCH (green/red) -------------------------------pin 35 (NEUTRAL & INHIBITOR SWITCH (blue/black)

Those are easy enough to figure out....not even required for the engine to crank, except grounding the neutral sensor, I think...hehe.

These are mostly IGN and ECU power wires, I think...But I need to know what wires to connect. If you can use the PIN # on the ecu harness and the name of the signal it would definitely help alot...I want to be careful with this stage...

RB20 ENGINE

pin 43 IGN Switch Start Signal (from key, right??) (black/yellow)pin 45 IGN Switch {IGN} (black/red)pin 49 Control Unit Power Supply (black/white)pin 58 Battery Power Supply (white/black)

Hardbody KA ECU old wiring

pin 1 IGN Signal (to the ign coil, right??) ------------------ (white)pin 3 IGN Check (huh???) ------------------------------------ (white/green)pin 4 ECCS Relay {Main Relay} ----------------------------- (blue/red)pin 34 Start Signal --------------------------------------------- (Black/yellow)pin 36 IGN Switch --------------------------------------------- (black/white)pin 38 Power Supply for ECM ------------------------------- (black/white)pin 47 Power Supply for ECM ------------------------------- (black/white)pin 46 Backup Power Supply (direct to 12v, right??) --- (white)

I know I need to hook up the RB wires: white/black, white/purple, black/red, and on the alternator: white/red. Where do they go??? I had these wires hooked up in the 240 so these 4 should make it run.

The start signal (RB-43) probably hooks up to Hardbody (HB-34). There are so many possibilities from the HB FSM for those IGN wires and Power wires, I am going crosseyed!! I can't afford to fry an ECU (or worse)....Can anyone help??

My resources are the RB motors FSM, pages EN 289-290 & EN 507-511, AND the 1994 Pathfinder FSM, pages EF&EC 149-151 & EF&EC 276-279. All of those pages give all the details for these ECU's...but it gets confusing. Is Carl H still around to help with solving this riddle? lol

The wire guide above is for a 240 KA swap, but those are the exact RB wires that I need to hook up to my D21 hardbody. I have the starter wired up to my ignition key by connecting the LARGE BLACK/YELLOW wire on the starter to the LARGE BLACK/YELLOW wire on the original KA harness.

I have the wires above "hot-wired" to my POS+ battery terminal (except the fuel pump...I have a fuel cell hot-wired). As of right now, it runs, but it runs like crap. That's to be expected with all kinds of vacuum leaks, no intercooler or piping connected, and, hence, the MAFS can't measure the air taken into the motor so that doesn't help either...

In the original s13 KA -> RB20 swap guide, I was instructed to

"8) Splice the white/purple wire from the RB plug into the white wire" (going into the 240 KA fusebox).

I believe that white/purple wire traces back to a green relay (ignition relay?).

Can someone PLEASE tell me what wire that WHITE wire is?? Or atleast tell me what type of signal it is?? Such as 12v const (always 12v), 12v keyed (only when keyed to start position), 12v switched (on with the accessories)??????

I need to know where to properly hook up the RB wires in the pic above!!!
