First off you need to take the door off and look at it, notice the plastic clips on the bottom of the box lid and the backing plate. Note that the bottom cover (for the blower motor) needs to be the last thing to go on.
To get the glove box cover back on you need to attach the draw string (on the right side of the box assembly), while pulling some tension you will need to gently catch the tabs and secure it by lightly pushing downward. It will take you several times, the most important thing to remember is to stay calm and don't force it. That lid is several hundred dollars and warranty does not cover DIY accidents.
