Anyone have a Fuel Pump Control Unit for sale? Just replaced the fuel pump, found FPCU is also bad. I can pay via Paypal, Apple Pay, MoneyGram, or USPS Money Order.

Email me [email protected]

Thanks,

I have no more spares, sorry.
Is yours a 60u00 or a 60u01?
Can you do the disconnect harness and jumper to ground to confirm its the fpcu?

If you have a 60u01, I' could maybe be talked into rebuilding your core, depending on how bad it is.

It's a 60u01. What's the turnaround time, if you were to repair it? And how much?

Nothing looks burnt, actually looks brand new. No melted runs, or discolored pins. But I did notice discoloration on the circuit board top-side- I'm thinking it may have been one of the capacitor that leaked. i can send you pics, if you want.

cool. please confirm that the jumper to ground runs the pump on high so we don't chase the wrong issue.
Yes, those caps can leak over time-sounds like you are able to replace those yourself?
Pics are always informative :)
PM me if you want me to do the work.

I found at the salvage yard, and it works (knock on wood). Thanks for the offer to repair, though. Is it just me, or does it seem like the Q runs better with the jumper wire to ground? I think it has better get up and go, especially from dead stop, with the bypass.

Well, it's sorta cheating....I think your empirical observation is valid. the pressure regulator should be spilling back, but with the higher volume of fuel flow when pump is on high, the regulator could 'saturate' and you might see higher pressure at the injector. If there is, then for the fixed ECU injector time, the volume of fuel going into the cylinders will be more due to the higher pressure. I know, I know, the 370cc injector has a fixed orifice, but think of it kinda like turbo lag. if the pump is always on high, then there is no pressure drop when you mash the throttle, while the fuel pump is spooling up from low to high.
The downside is that it heats up/wears out pump to always run on high (I hear a 'who cares' argument coming). and if you have a leaky injector it could make things worse for potential hydrolock.

"Run harder, die sooner" or the Icarus effect, so to speak.BTW, I read a post about someone that claims that they were able to bypass the FPCU on a 300ZX TT by installing an Walbro 450 lph pump, aftermarket FPR, and running heavier gauge power/ground wire from/to the relay/pump. I thought about attempting that, only if i wasn't able to find another FPCU.

I did install an aftermarket fuel pump, made by Quantum Fuel System. It's a 340 lph pump, with a lifetime warranty. They're a local business (in Ventura, California). So, I thought I would give them a plug. Most of the other fuel pumps on the market come with a 1 year warranty, except for Walbro and Deatschwerks (3 years). If you need a fuel pump, give Quantum a try. It might be the last fuel pump you'll have to buy for your car. They website is below:
