Ok.. I dont know what I would do without this forum.. many talented and knowledgable peeps.

I need help again. Im planning on buying 2 universal greddy ti-c mufflers (I'm on a budget, i can get both for $500) and was planning on getting the rest of the pipping done in a local muffler shop. Someone told me that they would do the pipping for like $200 or so..

My question is... what do I need besides the mufflers.. do i keep the cat-converter? need any additional stuff?.. not sure if the current greddy ti-c is street legal (Doesnt look like it) what would i need if i wanted to make it pass emissions?.. pipping would be from the end of the headers to the actual mufflers. Any advise would be great.

I don't think you will need anything else besides just the piping. since you are on a budget I would just cut the third cat off the stock y-pipe and just straight pipe the rest to the mufflers. It should still pass emissions and not be too expensive.

PS. I like your sig

Thanks for the reply.. Oh!! and forgot to ask the most important question.. would there be much of a diffrence between the $1000 altima greddy ti-c system and the route im taking? .. i mean , looking at the Altima coupe greddy system, seems that its just 2 mufflers and the straight pipe.

You can find the universal mufflers at http://www.phantasmusa.com/universaltic.htmland I just bought the complete Ti-c system for $800 shipped.I called a few places to see how much they would charge for the piping and it would of come out to about the same $800 so i figured might as well go with the (Fitted) system.

After sales tax and everything man it's going to be a lot closer than just buying the TiC. And trust me, after all the s*** I went through trying to go the cheaper route on my Spec V, go ahead and save up the extra $100 and just buy the actual TiC system for your car. I promise you... cheap buys twice.

You have high chances of encountering leaks, fitment problems, etc if you just "ghetto-rig" the pair of mufflers at Joe Blo's exhaust shop.

With my Spec V, I started out buying a Nismo knockoff from XSPower for my exhaust for $250. Had to get it hacked up for anothe $80 so it wouldn't rest on the rear beam. Had to get the welds redone for another $50 because they leaked. After it was said and done, the exhaust was still total crap and I ended up spending another $450 and just buying the Apex'i WS2 exhaust for my Spec V. Installed it, and everything was fine.

I just would rather not see people go through a ton of trouble and end up spending the same money for a half-a** product when they could've just bought the real deal if they had just waited a bit.

Just my two cents man. Take it or leave it.

Amen brotha.. I feel ya!.... I decided to go that route.. just buy the complete system just to avoid any of the issues you stated... Its not worth saving $100.. so i bought the Ti-c system for $800 shipped.. Should get it this week.. good info tho.

lol my bad bud I must have just looked over your last post. Let me know how you like the TiC! I'm exhaust hunting myself but for the sake of simplicity I think I'm going to get the Tanabe. But it's only $200 less than the TiC so that changes things a bit.

Sucks you don't have a 3.5 because I'm selling my Stillen Cat-back for $600 and it's very close to you at SFR.
