About a month ago the CA in my car lost a rod bearing so its sitting in my driveway. I've been emailing the places in the sticky and searching around since then for another motor. I can't find any places that will just send me a motor though. They are all motorsets. If anyone knows of one available or can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. I need to get this car running before school starts.

Just a rod bearing? You don't need a whole new motor. Go to Advance and get a crankshaft kit for a CA18DE.... its like $200 and it comes with a remanned crank and new bearings.

hard to explain but i would be better off getting another running motor. rod bearing is just a guess on my part. alot of rod knock on one cylinder but the motor is still driveable, just i would do alot of damage if i drove it.

if i can find a replacement motor i would probably consider selling this to someone so they can rebuild it

There's a CA18DET on eBay for only $200. Its probably just what you need except it doesnt come with a turbo or exhaust manifold

i never asked if i should rebuild, just asking if anyone has a motor.for someone of my skill and tools rebuilding would take too long and i dont have that long. swapping a motor would take 2 days if nothing goes wrong and the motor is fine.

either way i have a pending buy with someone its just that for some reason the money order i sent him has sitting at his local post office for a week. im just trying to see if anyone else has one that they know of incase this falls through
