In the US, they are called 240SXIn Japan, they are called 180SX or SilviaIn Australia, S13's are gray market, S14 and S15 are 200SXIn Europe, they are all 200SX.
From what I've noticed the numbering is actually a big deal on European cars. Kind of like how they sell an EVO 247 or something, the 247 being the number of horsepower. Also, renaming a car significantly might confuse some people. Maybe that's one of the reasons why BMW called the 2.5L 3-series the 323i, and the Mercedes C230 Kompressor coupe has a 1.8L engine.
I just find it kinda weird how the 180SX was the 180SX even though all their other cars have/had names. Gloria, Silvia, etc. Our infinitis get alphanuermics to make it sound fancy like them
