Hey Buds,

My 03, I-35 has 162k, run decent, all things work BUT, it has a blown #4 piston ring. The Car runs, with cold air, tranny shifts great, everything works...LOTS OF NEW PARTS, TIMING CHAIN, HEAD JOB, WATER PUMP, ETC,....but car wants to die when i come to a stop (i shift it to neutral and the car stays on)

I want to sell it as is (or part it out)

UNFORTUNATELY, i haven't got many takers so far as most are afraid of the work involved.

-How would you sell this car if you wanted to sell it 'for parts?'
-Where would you advertise ?
-Anyone....?

Thanks very much!

:)

So, a couple things working against you on it, unfortunately - The main one, of course, is the invasive engine work needed, but the one that's probably keeping it from being snatched up as a parts car is its relative rarity.

If it were mine, I'd donate it. I believe you can claim the low KBB value on your taxes, which might equate to more $ and less hassle than trying to sell it. Scrap places will usually offer $300-$600 for a car like that.

Post it up on Facebook and Craigslist - Also, check to see if a local high school auto shop could use it.

Good luck!

Thanks Friend,

I'm sure that Tranny sells for over $600 and the motor by itself for over $1k (minus discount for piston). Other parts could be sold and the remaining car sold for $300 to junk-yard (i'm in Fla).

Anyone know of a Parts web-site for those Parting out their car???

PS. Thanks for the Tax Donation Tip....i'll check into that

Thanks
