Three weeks ago the oil pressure light on my 1992 G20 was taking 10 - 15 seconds before it would turn off after a cold start. I removed the oil sending unit and started it up no oil came out of the hole. Tonight the oil pump cover was removed all looked good the reg.valve was in the closed position.I removed the oil filter and was dry after running for about 3 minutes.

I have been good at the oil changes and the rest has been maintained well one thing I did not mention was that I removed the oil pan and then reinstalled it after cleaning the the pick up. Is it possibile that the oil pump lost its prime? 160,000 miles.NOW WHAT! any ideas would be greatful. Thinner oil, thicker oil Im, stuck any way to put oil under pressure and blow out the oil gallys. Thanks steve

Did you measure the pressure with a gauge? Had the crankshaft bolt ever been removed since leaving the factory? What kind of maintenance has the car seen and how many miles on the clock?
