Nothing wrong w/ that, we bust our butts all week long so we may as well relax a little on the weekends. I've been trying to be easy this weekend as well even though I should be out looking for a 2nd job.

yeah, don't feel bad when I was 16 and 17 I drove an 87 ford tempo which broke down on me literaly the day I got it, and then about every 2 weeks after that I had something going wrong with it. and then stepped up to an 85 honda accord which was in nice shape, a 5 speed and extremely reliable, but there wasn't much to do to improve it except black out the windows, and put what I could afford as far as a stereo in it. I didn't have anything worth having til I was 19 when I got my first pathfinder.

But you know, we all have our problems, but this weekend has been a little eye opening for me since I've gotten a window into the lives of a few people who's lives suck worse than I can imagine, been involved in a police situation involving my baby niece (whom we're wrestling with the fact that she may be gone forever soon from us if her mother decides to take off), and then this morning I watched 3 people die in a car accident a mile from my house, then helped out a friend of mine who's involved in constant custody battles for his kid. All of which were situations in which I stepped in and attempted to help and most of them I failed.

I'm just floored by all of it to say the least, makes me think I should be more thankful to God for what I have. I've got a lump in my throat as I'm writing this but I hope it makes you guys realize that we all have it pretty good. Even if our cars don't run.

AMEN to that brother. Life comes at you fast and no one is promised a tomorrow so we have to be thankful for every day that we wake up on the right side of the dirt.

Well fortunately for ALL of us, it's never too late to learn from others. I've adopted a saying that I'll share with you all: You gain experience by going through life, however wisdom is gained when you can capitalize on your experience to benefit your future.

I'm anxious to get to Tail of the Dragon one of these days. I did my first donut the other day..lol. I know it's not a big deal to most of y'all, but I've owned FWD cars and SUV's most of my life so it's a small milestone in the road to learning to drift I guess

I'm just hoping to have my car in better shape by the time we all go up there. I need to address this cooling sensor issue; if that's not it then try to see why I'm running so rich, it's killing my mpg Since it appears that we're all in favor of going to Tail of the Dragon, I propose that we claim that as our Official initial meeting for SOUTHERN CHAOS! We can do it in December as previously discussed, albeit it's gonna be rough camping in the snow ALL IN FAVOR??

Well if it's in NC, there probably will be some snow. Perhaps we can come up with some tenative dates so that we can reschedule if there is inclimate weather. Most weather reporting services can offer a 14 days in advance, so we might be able to work out some alternate plans if things don't pan out right.

My only main concern is the amount of semi trucks that use this route as well. My car is already pretty beat up on the outside, I don't think I'll be needing any xtra scratches and stuff because of being forced off the road..

There are alot of really good roads out there. The sky way and what not. 129 is kind of just the hub. I wouldn't mind getting off the tail of the dragon a bit. Its such a popular road that you know it gets watched. I little off the beaten path I could drive a bit more spirited.

I would love to get it but I'm really stretched thin right now. James offered to buy it for what I have in it right now and I may take him up on it. So I'd tell him that if he gets a good offer take it and if he still has it when I can do something thats just gravy for me. I can always find another parts car if needed.

Well, if I do buy it from him, then I would definitely be interested in a parts car, so why don't you send me the address so I can find out what he wants for it. Even if I don't buy brandons I can probably find a shell somewhere.

I like the post on the previous page you guys. I know i think about that stuff all the time. I've really thought about life alot more and how life just slaps you in the face and before you know it your on your own. I have some little thing to take care of on my car. Needs the oil change still which i'll take care of tomorrow and then maybe a tune up. Im going to take the brand spanking new radiator out the red one and put it into the black one and also exchange the exhuast. Then she'll need some body work.

I had a meeting after school today with Dan King (Nashville Auto Diesel College) and im going to be going there next year for $22,000. Which i know you all will think is alot but its only for 12 months and you can bring your car in to work on just pay for the parts. They also teach you welding(which i have some experience in that), air conditioning, body work, painting, air brush, etc. Im really looking forward to it.

dude, i agree with bryton on this, those trucks look scary man!!! and if we go in the snow, how much fun can you actually have with unintended drift sessions? lol. i love drifting, but having almost NO control, kinda freaks me out . but it would be fun though, lol. i'm not completely sure if i could make it though, we would have to figure out a date first, i guess. i would definately like to be there for our clubs official first meeting, ya know.

Congratulations Black on Gold, that sounds like a sweet deal. Even though it's a good amount of money, the skills that you'll acquire can prove to be very beneficial in the long run. Heck, even if you only excel in one of those facets you can still come off pretty well. Welding is a really good trait and you can take that skill into a whole other arena outside of the automotive world, maybe even open your own contracting service

Man I'm sad; I'm not going to be able to make it to Nicofest this weekend. I was hoping to have a 2nd job since like 3 weeks ago but it just hasn't panned out....I can't even get hired @ McDonalds for p/t Oh well, I guess I'll just try to get geared up for Tail of the Dragon in December. Maybe when we have our pre-meet we can decide on a date to have the main meeting.
