Brandon, turstin and i pretty much hang out just about every time there's some sort of car gathering we can all make it to, maybe some more of you should come out with us.

One of the ideas I had, since we would be a relatively small group, would be to pack camping equipment and coolers and stuff in our cars and head up to Deals Gap one friday night in the fall, camp out, then head out in the morning for a dragon's tail run, then if yall want to, camp out again on saturday and head home sunday morning. Anyone who doesn't want to drive/or car doesn't run, can just ride shotgun and take photos. I know of a campground near the nantahala that is for mountain bikers that is car friendly (Tsali, if anyone is familiar with that)

I was thinking something like that too James. I wouldnt mind doing any of that. I could possibly meet down at Jordans house because it probably the closest besides Columbia. If everyone would post up the best pics of there car or email them to me (see below) i can see what i can do about the backdrops. I had the same idea in mind as of changing it every so often.

Well any picture of your current car would be alright. It doesnt matter what it looks like. I know mine has a few body flaws but im going to have my friend work on it in Auto Body in a few weeks. Im still thinking about a CA or if i should build a KA

you know, i was seriously having the same debate!! i've been talking to a guy in florida who would do my entire swap, motor and all, exhaust and fmic for around $2500. but for $2500 my ka would be fast and torquey!!

All of these ideas sound good to me. I agree w/ James (btw welcome back) about our elite status, I don't wanna be just another car club. If we can pull it off I'd like for us to have some prestige and community respect. We probably should come up with some type of eligibility requirements for new members of the club, but I don't think it should be based on mods or anything like that for those of us that have/will be getting stock cars. I like that logo ClubSX came up with so far. I'm planning on washing my car up so it doesn't look as bad and then I'll try to find a good angle to get a picture. I was thinking of making the region as the back drop and putting all the other stuff inside there and then putting the shot of the chosen car on the left side where the region is currently residing. I think it would be good to have our meets between 2 places for the folks that don't live in SC, that only seems fair. If we're gonna meet quarterly that would be good to have every other meet in SC and the other where James suggested....idk, just brainstorming right now. I'm cool with the camping out thing, but I think we should go ahead and get that in the works b4 it gets too cold outside; perhaps sometime b4 Thanksgiving.

That's a helluva deal if it comes w/ everything that you listed Chris!!

ClubSX, I think you should go ahead with the CA swap, especially since you can source a lot of maintenance parts here in the USA junk yards.

Well just keep us posted. One advantage is that the new motor will have a little less mileage on it. Then I suppose if you drop $2500 into your ka, you're basically rebuilding it anyway so mileage won't even matter.

Yea, who knows maybe after the CA i'll decide to step it up. I think getting a CA is alot better choice also because right now i dont have any place to take a motor apart and rebuild it. If i would then i'd go that route. Im going to be changing alot out on the CA before i drop it in. Im thinking of changing the Cams, Fuel Rail, later on a bigger turbo. What other Nissans came with the CA's? I got some good ideas in my head too. Im thinking possibly of welding together my own Fan Shroud. It looks pretty good in my head just have to make it work. Who knows. Anyways here's a 489HP CA...enjoy

you know, i have hear alot of good things about the ca, but even more bad about them though. i think i'm gonna build the "little truck motor that could." besides, what ever mods you do, your tq will always almost match you hp, which is great for drift. not to mention, since i'll be turbo-ing a na motor, there will almost no lag. also, my buddy up in NY has a turbo ka with 300whp on a stock block, polished head, and 210k miles. i was impressed.

Sorry to bust your bubble Chris, but turbo lag is affected by the size of the turbo, not the motor to which you attach it.

Now that I review your post again though, if you're looking for similar output as your friend's, then you probably could get a ball-bearing turbo with decent performance and minimal lag characteristics.

I think im just going to go with the CA for now. Its a very good motor for a High Schooler to get started on and can really be built to withstand high amounts of horses. Theres also alot of clean, nice looking ones.

Nah, im going to keep the body right now the way it is except for some body work and going over the car in black again. I'll probably do a kit or something once im at NADC because 3 weeks out the year you get to bring in your car and the labor is free just pay for parts. Who knows, maybe i decide not to do anything with the body

CA is a good motor but will not make huge HP. Turbo KA is a pretty good choice but a turbo VQ trumps all!!!! .... I just need to come up with the money for the kit .... Maybe in a few years when its a little cheaper to mod my Z.

489 Horses out of a 1.8 liter? Your crazy. Thats plenty of power for that little motor.

yeah it is, but for the same amount of money you would dump into a ca for that kinda of power, you could have a 600hp ka, or hell, rb20

Like i said i would build my other KA but i dont have a place to build so im just going to be parting it out. Im working on it day by day. Still. I wouldnt mind taking care of the body work first. If i take off the S12 wheels then im going to have to replace the lugs on them because the threads are horrible. Im going to need to take them off though because they're a bit too small(S12 wheels) i'll show ya a pic soon. I wouldnt mind just getting the 5speed swap, some nice gold rims, Kit and then some exhaust. Its either that or wait a really long time for the CA. I have alot of thinking ahead of me.
