Navigation System

Hi all,I am thinking of getting a 01-02 QX4. The one that I am looking at has the navigation in it. I have seen posts where people do not like this unit. My question is, is it possable to install an aftermarket navigation unit in a Qx4 with a factory navigation unit. How will this affect the climate control etc...?Thanks,Nick

you could install it but you would have to leave the original one in place to use your climate control.

OR maybe you and this guy can work a trade for equipment then you both have what you want. You get all his non navi equiped stuff and you give him all your navi equipment that way you can use conventional climate control and have the aftermarket navi added to the dash.http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....61317

Hey Lsv8, I see your concerns about the navi. I have done a non factory navi conversion using a rosen R6500 display unit and navi system. I bought the navigation unit bezel that is like the one in the navi qx4 to get the system to look close to stock. Kenwood's new excelron double din lcd screen is about the best thing as close to stock as you are going to get if you do not like the current navi system. Also infiniti's navi system is cds and they cover only a particular region you need to buy extra cds to get across the U.S. I was going to go with the kenwood system, however, i have already bought all the neccesary pieces for the the stock navi system to get it to work. If you would like to go to a non-navi qx4 look, and install an aftermarket system, I am willing to trade with you all the climate control and stock radio systems with you, and i will give you some more money to make up the difference for the navi. I am probably your best bet if you are looking into this conversion, seeing as how i have already started and was close to finishing this project, and I know the interior dash of the qx4 inside-and-out. I drive a 02 qx4 and if you have any questions, reply to this thread or pm/email me about this process if your serious.
