Nav Upgrade

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Does anyone know if the Nav upgrade also includes other associated electronics? I have a 2011 with about 108K on it and the bluetooth won't allow me to receive calls (but I can call out) on my IPhone 7. Also, just today I noticed that when the map screen is up the radio station preset doesn't change when I change the channel, although it will if the Status screen is up. This has never happened before. I am due for a map upgrade but would be more eager to blow the $100 if it fixed these other problems. Have to decide before the end of the month.

The map updates are handled by Here.com (formerly known as NAVTEQ). The map update won't address any other issues as it only updates the map. I'd suggest letting your dealership have a look at the system to see if there's possibly a firmware update that's need, or if it just needs a reset.

thats actually not true. the first dvd of the nav upgrade also upgrades firmware on the bluetooth and other hardware.

If you can borrow the first upgrade dvd from someone, you dont need a code to upgrade bluetooth and etc.

been looking for an ugprade dvd myself

My apologies. Please be aware that what you say may hold true for vehicles like yours that have the DVD system, it does not apply to those with the SD card map system, such as the 1st gen Rogue.

Just to clarify...by the first dvd of the upgrade are you talking about a specific year or would that be any current DVD upgrade kit, such as the one now available?

youre 100% right. yeah I meant this for the dvd based hard drive systems.

And by #1 dvd, i mean the first dvd of the upgrade kit.

Alrighty then! I just order the Nav update in the hopes it will fix the bluetooth problem. The radio station indicator fixed itself after restarting the car.

Yes, it did. The car is now my daughters so she reaps the benefit, but I want her to have functional bluetooth so she can call without hand holding a phone. It didn't affect the Jukebox, which was working just fine.

Glad to hear! Any chance I could borrow the first DVD from you to upgrade the firmware on my system? I'd pay shipping if that's ok

Sorry, that is all with my daughter who is out of state. The car and all that goes with it is hers now.

I recently upgraded my NAV to 2017 maps and it comes with the #1 DVD with firmware upgrade. I think I could share the whole DVD set with you.

Just be aware that to update the maps, you need to buy (or find) the code... But i'm almost 100% that you don't need any code for the firmware / software upgrade.

Oh man I'd totally appreciate that. Yeah I just want to update the firmware.

Do you think you can grab an ISO of DVD1?

So with IOS11, my bluetooth is acting up again on the Infiniti. Is there any way I can borrow disc 1 from you to update the firmware on the nav? I will be more than happy to pay for shipping and return

My email is kent.fraser@gm**l.com if that works?
