New owner of a almost new 2013 M37x. Great car but I must admit I'm disappointed with the Nav Traffic. Specifically the green/yellow, red traffic flow indications. I travel quite a bit down to NYC and NJ from CT and traffic flow is very important to me. I plot a course around construction, accidents, etc using this info. I specifically asked the salesperson if this nav lite up the highways in CT with trafiic flow. Of course I got the YES it does - this car is not showing that because the subscription is not activated. When I bought the car and setup the Sirius subscription I found out only one highway (rt95) has traffic flow and only north to Bridgeport. The Chrysler and Jeeps I had previously lite up all highways and most major roadways. I know that GM vehicles have this limitation and avoided them because of that.
After much research (and after I bought the car) I now realize why Infiniti's, GM and others have traffic flow data which is much more limited than other OEMs. Seems when Sirius and XM merged, they merged the radio but not the traffic. They still offer SiriusXM Traffic and NavTraffic. Infiniti uses NavTraffic which is limited in market area compared to SiriusXM traffic when it comes to Traffic flow data. GM also uses NavTraffic. This is hardware specific so it's NavTraffic like or not. Good point is the NavWeather is superior to the TravelInk weather on the other vehicles. Hopes this helps anyone wondering where their traffic flow data is. SiriusXM has a market coverage map for NavTraffic on their website. Connecticut coverage is all but none existent.
