i was wondering the same thing about an na ka. boreing and stroking it, and things of the sort, ameby trying to get 250hp out of the block then going turbo mabey??? but a na ka, with good mods, and 250ish hp would make a good drift car, and then theres no lag or any thing, no complicated turbos kits, ect.

IDK If im right or if its possible to get 250ishhp out of a ka, but im not nocking turbo either. Im just looking for something different. And na is diff.

im my mind if a B18 1.8l can make 180 na power stock (?) then why cant a ka make 240 on 2.4 l with no turbo. seems weird to me.

You won't really get anywhere by stroking the KA...it's allready pretty stroked so your options for increased displacement really is limited to just boring or re-sleeving and boring a tad bit more. Also, you will have "lag" so to speak if you get a really radical cam to make the most NA horsepower possible. I can understand wanting to build a nice torquey engine that breaths a bit better with simple boltons but for any real performance I see no replacement for turbocharging.

Only way you're gonna get 250 (if thats even remotely possible which I seriously doubt) its gonna have to be high-compression which makes it a crap candidate for FI. Nitrous, yes. turbo no

i wouldnt mind having a 250 hp KA for 3-4k. it probably has a really nice hp and torque curve. plus NA is much easier to deal with, you dont have to worry about bov, wastegate, intercooler, turbo sizing, etc. it would also be worth it cuz if you were ever to race anybody and you tell them you are running NA KA they think you would be a joke, but you'd probably smoke alotta people with that.

if i do build my own kit, any idea of price and simplicity from any of you who have done it before. i'd like to keep car and turbo under 5000-6000 greens if possible. and what about running no turbo for a while if i am running ti in winter with sub freezing temps?

what about nitrous? good idea , bad, can the block handle a 280+hp turbo and a 75 hp shot of nitro?

ok yeah maybe it seems like i was smoking something, actually a little buzzd. Anyway what i meant was that with equal power to weight ratios in same cars, one turbo, one na. The na car will produce better lap times. Fine tuned na cars will have better power delivery although in much higher rpm range.
