Rustoleum Oil based paint.
100% mineral spirits.
High density foam roller.

Rustoleum has an uber pretty yellow aswell.

Do you not need to put clear coat on after painting to protect the paint? ive looked at three sites telling you how to do this and they just roll it on and then after the last coat they say its finished.

You can, but the paint alone is pretty tough, and super easy to touch up scratches.

Oh ok haha cool :) im hoping to paint my truck this summer. Might need to take off like a week off work to prep, paint and put back together, haha but when i do ill keep you guys updated in my build thread. Last question, when your measuring the paint and mineral spirits, how much paint would you mix with how much mineral spirits to make 2:1 ratio? 2 parts paint 1 part mineral spirits

@ Bloodman324, I am painting/sanding as I drive. It is my daily driver, so, I work on it a little at a time. I usually made up 1 cup of paint to 1/5 cup mineral spirits for the first 3-5 coats. Then I gradually made it thicker. It is not that detailed.

Sweet build! I wish I could make that quick of progress on my truck. But along with the paint questions, how much does is it looking like it runs to get that whole thing finished, paint and supplies and all? I am definitely interested in a good, durable finish on a 4x4 that gets used as such. And by the way N-Dually, thanks for the link to this, I think the carb stuff will be helpful. Ordered my conversion kit last night and I cannot wait for it to get an slap that sucker on!

Hi, I currently have ~80 bucks in the all the paint supplies. I think I will need to buy one more pack of 1000 grit.
This includes: 3 qts of paint, 1 can of spray paint, 2 containers of mineral spirits, sandpaper, masking tape (buy the blue painters tape), rollers, and sanding block.

This is the last post before the trucks exterior is done. For now…
I added bedliner to the bottom section and painted the grill as well. I still need to do some detailing. Here is a little teaser...
