I have a 94 300zx with 123,000 that I just changed the oil in. I'm not sure if synthetic was used before I got hold of it but I put in 10w30 and I noticed today the oil pressure was towards 90 at 3200 rpms and at idle it sets about 40. Before it idled at 30 or so and the highest the oil pressure got was 60. Any help is appreciated

This is what I would start with first:
1. disconnect the harness on the oil pressure sending unit which is attached to the oil filter assembly and clean it with electrical parts cleaner. May be giving an inaccurate reading because it's dirty. (which for me seems unlikely but worth a try- it's free!)

does your new filter (you replaced the filter right?) have a bypass valve?

only use synthetic oil rated for a turbo engine. 10w30 is getting hard to find so I use base 4 fully synthetic 5w30 oils which works even better and cheaper as well! I would never use mineral oil in a turbo just because well, turbos get hot. hot enough to start to burn the oil in a few minutes if you like to have fun. oh and you need to read the whole label because there was a landmark case that decided it was ok to market mineral oil with a drop of synthetic oil as fully synthetic.

Sorry, I forgot about this post lol. I found out I had too much oil. The dipstick is hard for me to read seeing how its different every time, the shape and style is rather odd
