Changed my spark plugs today, thinking it was sputtering issue when cold. Found that oil was covering all of them on the threads and one had good amount sitting in the hole.

So need to find valve cover gaskets and replace them.

"Ramps" don't do much good, I don't have a car I can pull up on the ramps, have to put 2x4s under tires, then jack up and then either put the ramps under the tires or use jack stands. Need good and cheap very low profile ramps, but still can't use ramps on my S13 coupe.

I usually jack up the car all the way and then lower it onto the ramps.

Heading to friend's Saturday to pick up the following:

VIS CF OEM-type Hood (needs sanding and clearcoat, I'm doing to DYI it)
Pacesetter header (needs to be painted and hardware to attach to cat)
3" Catco

They just accepted my tax return, so hopefully money in the next couple weeks so I can pay to get the top replaced.

Picked up the CF hood from a friend, as well as the pacesetter.

Picked up a 1/4 sheet orbital sander and some 1200 grit, along with 2 cans of rustolem clear for hood and 2 cans of high heat black for the header. Found spring bolts for the header (Napa), but bolts are too long, so need to hit Lowes but can use the springs.

Hopefully paint the header this coming weekend (if I can figure out where to hang it for paint/drying).

Going to wait on warmer weekend for the hood. And have to find a place to stand the OEM hood out of the way.

Have to find a bolt in 2.5 or 3" Catco Cat.

Painted the PaceSetter header today. We'll see if it last.

Also just where the starting point on the VIS CF hood is. Warmer days will bring my attempt to fix clearcoat.

What kind of paint did you use for the header. It looks amazing. High temp spray paint?

Yeah, high temp (2000 degs). I'll have to go look to remember the brand. Dupont maybe.

Going to see if I can get some things done this weekend.

-Replace ECU Temp Sensor (believe its bad, was randomly jumping 20 degrees on last drive)
-Put in the coin holder I found at the junkyard

The paint was Rustoleum.

Found a used 3" Catco Cat.

Hope to install header/catco in the next couple weeks. House work is first.

Still didn't get a chance to do:
- coin holder
- ECU Temp Sensor
- Fuel Filter (not sure if its ever been replaced)

Still waiting on state tax return to put on new top.

Also have to decide if I'm going to remove emissions when I install header.

Did get the coin holder installed, will get pics when I take pics of new top (Thursday or Friday).

Then Saturday it will probably go back on jackstands for:
-header
-3" cat
-fuel filter
-ECU temp sensor

Can only imagine how stuck those exhaust nuts will be since they probably haven't been removed since 1993.

Yeah, I'll probably use my jack handle and remove the hood for easy access (since I need to start working on the CF hood anyway).

I was thinking, you could cut the EGR pipe, and then connect the two sides with a strong rubber hose. This way you could have the manifold out of the car to take the bolt out...

I'm really hoping PB Blaster works for me.

Dropped the car off yesterday to replace the top, hope they don't run in to any issues/missing parts.

Few things.

1st the new top:

Next, that coin holder:

Then started working on the header/cat install. EGR is stuck, going to try it with some long wrenches that a friend has next weekend hopefully. Started removing emission stuff as well, which I'll go ahead and use my injen intake instead of blocking all the holes in the stock intake stuff. Did get the Catco and header extension put on.

how much do you want for that emissions pipe that was on the secondary exhaust pipe (the pipe between the manifold and the cat)?

The OEM Downpipe? Not much, but shipping would be high since its heavy.

not the downpipe, that emissions pipe that was threaded into it, if you're not keeping it.

Just let me get everything done and make sure I don't need it, then just pay foe shipping.

That'd be awesome! It plugs into this thing:

I believe if you remove emissions, then that system gets deleted. The nut on mine got all fouled up and just rusted away.

Need that whole thing from intake all the way to downpipe on the exhaust? Shouldn't be an issue after I get everything up and running.

Shouldn't be a problem, just give me a week or two (a cold is currently slowing me down).

After soaking the EGR tube in PB Blaster for about a week it came loose with vice grips yesterday.

Today got almost everything done, just can't get to the one hard bolt on the EGR blockoff plate area. May have to wait on some different tools, universal nor stubby rachet wrench would get to it. May be a couple weeks.

Added to the pile.
