Got a chance to get outside today.. Got the block/heads tore down to go to the machine shop on Monday. Going rent the valve spring tool in a bit to pull those, then its off to the shop for about a week and a half. Been getting a few good bites on my NA, so hopefully it sells soon so I can order Everything! So over the next week, I'll be continuing on painting under the hood. I don't feel like getting a new harness, so I'm going to order some conduit and start recovering the old one so it looks cherry! Happy Friday!

Thanks dude! Glad to be done.. I'm spent!

The machine shop is backed up a bit, but that just allows my hands/joints to recuperate :)

Just a quick update, everything is at the machine shop, should hear back Thursday. Gonna drop a bunch of stuff off to be powder coated next week. Got a few small things ordered while I'm waiting...

New conduit for the harness, new ac dryer, knock sensor, stainless braided vacuum hose, Amsoil synthetic oil so I can clean up the lifters. Can't wait to do some Real ordering!!!

Still waiting on the machine shop, so I'm cleaning my lifters, valves, etc. Found something interesting... hard to see in the pic below, but one of the lifters had a spring inside it.. in the wrong place.

Image

This is a pic of one that just wouldn't break loose... guess I'm ordering another.

Image

On a coolness note. I ordered my wheels and tires today. Going to order my springs in a little bit, so hopefully by the end of next week I'll have some stance pics!!!! :ohsnap

Thanks bro, getting a little more fun as the cleaning stuff is almost done. Then its time for assembly :badger Tomorrow I'm dropping off the valve covers, lower intake and exhaust manifolds to get powder coated. Also, tomorrow i will finish painting the firewall, which means the whole bay will be cleaned/painted. Then I will start on the wiring harness. Ordered a bunch of conduit to cover it all nicely with ties and thick electrical tape. The hose on the right is my vacuum hose. I'll drop off the plenum to be powder coated after I buy the delete kits and bypasses I want to do and clean it up a bit.

So, there are 2 sides of Christmas. The part when you buy stuff online and the part when the stuff starts coming in. Well I know its only September, but today was the buying and next week is the part where it comes in and I jump like a little school girl on the playground

Stuff I bought today:

Rims (keeping it a secret until they are on... don't worry, they aren't some ridiculously sick $3k set of rims, but I like surprises)
Tires - Kumho Ecsta LE Sport - Front 235/40/18 - Rear 275/35/18
Megan Racing Lowering Springs (Already have KYBs for under them)
Megan Racing Down/Tests
Godspeed SMICs
Competition Clutch Stage 2 Street Clutch
Jecs 550cc Injectors and Universal 255lph fuel pump
TopSpeed Hicas Eliminator Kit
No Name Oil Cooler (7.5 x 11 x .75)

So, its nice to finally be buying car parts instead of Kitchen stuff

And here's my 4 year old helping me build the lifters after cleaning them

Be sure the powdercoater doesn't get any blasting media in the valve cover baffles. That's bad news.

Alright, today's dose of vitamin rebuild! I didn't make it to drop off for the powder coat, and my freeze plugs still aren't in, so I haven't heard anything back from the machine shop :( But on a progress note!! I got my tires in today, now that is SERVICE! Ordered from TireRack.com yesterday and they got in today! Man they look fat (and phat too I guess)!

Image

Sidewall.. my son on the right was rolling them saying VROOOM VROOM!
Image

And as work today, I finished painting the firewall, so everything is black! I also got most of the wiring harness recovered with new conduit. I haven't done some of the ends yet because I want to see if I can tuck any and don't want the conduit to get in the way. So I'll wait until installation to decide that part.

Just a quick update, this week I've been going through each of the fender wells cleaning up/painting/undercoating. Found some Stillen adjustable uppers in the rear! Pretty nice bonus.

The new rims come in today! YEAH! Along with my Hicas eliminator. Thursday I get the springs as well as my intercoolers. And I got my JECS 550s yesterday!

Going to order all my OEM stuff for the build this week through Harry at ZTuner... I'll have pics of the car with the new shoes probably Friday! Getting to the point where things can start going on, instead of coming off!

Poop! A bummer.. Machine shop called and I'm going to have to bore. So going to go ahead with the 88mm Wiseco's. Was hoping to not have to dish that out, but guess I have to

Thx dude! Got the wheels in today.... Couldn't stop smiling. I won't have a pic until Friday cause I'm getting them mounted tomorrow and my springs come in Thursday. Gonna have to put spacers on the front to get them where I want, and gonna have to roll the back, but if it doesn't need rolling, it ain't wide enough :mike

well, I got my tires mounted, then the front Unmounted cause the shop scratched both of them!!! I guess no real biggee since I can't really drive it yet :gapteeth: They will have the new ones in next week. But I was ready to see them all 4 on it. Here is a teaser of the wheels/height. My springs come in tomorrow, so I should get the rear stance pics tomorrow. I will roll the back, but won't have to pull

Well, I've been sick for 2 days, so didn't get to the car any. Finally today I got out and installed the two back springs. It had Eibach and I went for Megan Racing for the lower stance. (The Eibachs are for sale if anyone wants, PM me). Here are a few pics and the Wheel reveal! They are TSW Snetterton 18x9.5 rear +40 and front is 18x8 +40 front. I'll be spacing the fronts. I wanted the +20 for the front, but they were 60-90 days till TSW was making any more and only one place I called had 1 in stock. I'll be bringing the camber out in the rear about 1/4" after I roll the fenders, so it will be nearly flush!

Ride Height (front will be a bit lower. I'll update those pics when I get the front springs in and the new wheels back from the shop)

Happy Friday! A quick update! I've been cleaning, sanding, cleaning some more and painting the intercooler piping. I installed them today and put the pop charger back on after a good refreshing of the filter with a K&N kit. Also removed the carbon canister.

Intercoolers

Piping, clamps, recirc valves all cleaned up

Gonna get some spacers and bring the front out quite a bit (haven't measured yet) and the back prob around 6mm out more

Alright, nothing all that exciting lately. Soaking, steel brush, dremel, repeat on all the small brackets, motor mounts, etc. cleaning the last few items as I get ready for assembly. Changed the front seal on the tranny today and pulled it apart to inspect the teeth, etc. I'm rebuilding the turbos. One done today, the other tomorrow.

Got my order from Ztuner. It's the one listed above with the gasket kit, deletes, bearings etc. Thanks Harry! Dropped the conn rod bearings at the machine shop for balancing the rotating assembly. They said I should have it back Tuesday :bigthumb: then it's time for assembly! Saw my water pipes at the powder coat shop... They looked cherry. Waiting for them to finish the plenum. They did the manifolds in black. I'll have pics as soon as I get them.

I'm tired! Gunight

Alright!!! Got my stuff back from the machine shop on Thursday. Got a chance this morning to start setting my ring gaps. Got 4 of them done! Tomorrow I'm hoping to get the other two and the piston/crank/girdle installed. Got a lot going on,so not much time to work. Also, I picked up my stuff from powder coating! The valve covers look like they are powder coated because of the camera exposure, but they are just sand-blasted. I am going to paint them.. after I do some serious degreasing/cleaning on them. Some sand got inside the valve covers :( If I can't get them clean enough to feel comfortable, I do have another set I can clean up and just sand/paint.

Powder coating (the plenum silver is just RIDICULOUS when the light hits it)

Flywheel resurfaced

Block (Bad exposure, I'll have pics hopefully tomorrow with pistons/crank in)

Ok, Finally some pics! :bowrofl: Been only getting an hour or so here or there, so took half the day off today to get on it! Got the bottom end put together, took half the afternoon putting the heads back together.. "KEEPER" is the new curseword in my house  (I'm guessing now someone will tell me how I could have done it in 30 minutes)

The heads are just sitting on there finger tight. I'm going get my father-in-laws torque wrench tomorrow to torque everything to spec and keep going! ... And yes I cleaned up the mess you see behind the motor today... Its rough when all your tools are in the shed in the back, and you're working under a carport with a 6' table because no garage... oh well, it would be worse if I didn't have it!

Kinda funny, it now looks just like the day I bought it off of Craigslist HA! But now it has a surprise inside :)
