Hi My Name is Daniel,

i have a Little Hustler datsun 620 series. we have rebuilt the Carberator, put on a new fuel pump, new distributor and cap, drained fuel tank, blew out fuel lines. if you put gas in to the Carberator it will fire over till that is gone, but its not sucking fuel into the carb. need help to get this truck back on the road.

well it sounds for sure as if its not getting fuel... the question is why

have you tried pulling the fuel lines at various places to see where the fuel stops flowing?

I got it started today, it ran on its own till everything warmed up then it started to die on me, so i gave it a little gas and it back fired on me twice. it kind of chokes when you slowly rev it up and let off. i did turn it off and back on then it ran again on its own for 15 minutes. what should the Idl be, any suggestion so it runs smooth and starts when you turn the key done not have to crank a few times?

well... first things first... check all you vac lines and such. your timing might also be off by the sounds of it. the idle on a manual should be around 800 when warm and 900 for an auto
