Not possible. Buy a timing light from an auto parts store and check timing.

As for your hesitation problem, check tps connector, spark plugs, maf sensor, ecu codes.

I've done all of that I know my plugs are not the ngk's but they are new. What exactly does a timing light do? Besides flash

This article explains how to check/adjust your timing:http://www.twinturbo.net/net/v...22678

As mentioned above, you do need a timing light. It's really simple. Connect the light to your battery, use the inductive pickup clamp on the timing light to connect to the black wire loop at the PTU, and point it at your crank pulley. You will see the mark every time the light flashes, and the mark should be at 15. Turn your CAS counterclockwise to move the mark counterclockwise, and vise versa.

Make SMALL adjustments to your CAS, we are talking millimeters here...a tiny movement will adjust your timing a good bit!

Good luck and if you have any questions, shoot them back here

There's usually 3 wires attached to the timing light. Two are for the battery (one is black one is white, so it can get power to flash) and the other one is called an inductive pickup. You attach that pickup to a wire that sends a signal when the spark plug is ignited. This signal is "picked up" by the "inductive pickup" on the timing light, and the light flashes as the plug is ignited.

You can attach the inductive pickup to the cylinder one spark plug wire, or to the black wire that loops around near the PTU. Both will make the light flash when the number one cylinder spark plug fires. You want that spark plug to fire when the cylinder is 15 degrees before top dead center (all the way at the top of the stroke.)

There is a little white mark (like a line) on the crankshaft pulley. This mark is to set timing. When that mark is all the way at the top, cylinder one is all the way at the top. There is also, to the left side of that pulley a little piece of metal with numbers on it. This is to set the timing. So when the timing light flashes, you want that white mark to be at 15.

Does that help at all?

PS - You should get the right plugs anyways, setting your timing will help if it is off, but getting the NGK PFRB6-11 plugs will also help. They were designed specifically for this car

From what your saying I'm guessing its like blinking really fast while looking at a fan or something. The metal plate on the crank is the same thing as u see on a old Chevy or something right? Also do I have to take anything out to see the crank?

Yeah the light flashes like a strobe...its nuts how fast your engine is spinning lol.

Here is a pic from another thread, the numbers above the crank pulley are what I'm talking about. They are easy to see here:

Do you have to take all that stuff out?

Buy a set of the factory plugs. Some engines, like this one are fussy about what plugs are in it.

Also also how many degrees before tdc would yield the best performance?
