my starter just went out....

would you guys possibly know what starter works on ca18det?

my starter getting pretty weak and its about to die.. anyone one might have one spare?

First are you sure your battery is fine? It could just not be getting enough juice.

Look at the FSM, its easy to disassemble, clean it up, perhaps sand down the motor brushes a bit and relube it with some appropriate heavy duty lube.. thats how I rebuilt both of mine, they went from dead and near dead to more brute force than the one on the KA.

same here, my KA went out changed it then the new one was crap. took the old one apart cleaned it up, fixed a wire that had been frayed from rubbing on the brushes and it worked like new till i killed the motor.

so poeple rebuilt starter buy just cleaning a brushes and internal?

some poeple has to know what year model of starter brushes would work on ca18det....

my town is so small.. where no place like alternator/starter rebuilt shop

CA transmission (standard) w/ CA18DET. Get a CA18DE starter. Just bought one two days ago. Cost me $223 after core (Canadian)

so u are saying FWD starter will work on RWD ? someone please confirm this, because it is hard to beilve FWD starter will work.. dee, or someone please tell me...

Part # on my DET starter is 17077 and part # on the advance autoparts website says 17077 as well, so I guess they must be the same.
