last monday 3/24 about 6pm i went to start my rogue and it wouldnt start. I knew it wasnt the battery cause all the lights and the radio was fine but we tried to boost it any way. I had it towed the next morning because the service was closed. When brought in I told the service advisor what the problem was and was told they would call me when the problem was found. I called at 12pm and was told "they have no idea what the problem is and they were on the phone with tech support" I then called back at 2 and was told that they found the problem and it is the "ipdem box...it is like a large fuse box. the power is goin to it but no power coming out of it" I was also told the part was goin to be overnighted. The next day part didnt come in, day after that part didnt come in, and the day after that the part didnt come in. Then yesterday I was told the part dont exist yet. Then they revised what they said they said "it does exist it is just getting it". They then called me back to inform me that they are upgrading my rental to an suv and that they found the part id number and hopefully they get it soon.

only 4,300 miles on the rogue

any one else have a poblem like this or know anyone with this problem

The IPDM (Integrated Power Distribution Module) is a CPU that controls many of the devices in the car including the starter, headlights, wipers, etc. If this fails, you likely cannot start the car or control these devices.

A few years ago, many car mfg's started switched to a networked system of wiring as opposed to running individual wires. Imagine if your computer had to be individually wired to every website in the world, you see how impossible this is. With the network system (Referred to as CAN BUS), the switch sends a command to the IPDM which in turn energizes the relay to power the device.

Can you please clarify this? Is this problem with one Intellikey or both sets of them?

The mechanical key portion of the Intellikey cannot start the car without the rest of the fob (the portion with the buttons) present. This is because the fob contains an immobilizer ID chip which must be recognized before the vehicle will start.

Doesn't seem to be a common problem, since no one else has chimed in. But I'm keep an eye out for it when analyzing the latest survey results at TrueDelta. 85 owners are now signed up, so if it's common it should show up.

both of the intelkeys one starts the car but wount open the door and the other opens the door but dont start the car. When you look at the 2 keys side by side you see that its cut different. But if you dont try to use the key itself and you have it in your pocket theres no problem opening and/or starting with both of them.

I would go back to the dealer and demand them replace both intellikeys. Last thing you need is for the intellikey battery to die and you get left stranded!
