yay! Been waiting for this post man. Your motor was the only other "stand motor" for the longest. Glad to see its still on it's way to the finish line.

Thanks guys. I have run into some problems and also have lost a lot of motivation, but now that the engine is in the bay, the motivation is back. Recently been working on it 2-3 days a week and getting a decent amount of it done.

yeah it used to run. Basically had it in stock form in two 240sx before, then it leaned out and then the rebuild started.

Man, it's great to see that your rebuild is finally coming along. You newbies to the forum need to recognize! DETurbine is an RB- O.G. from way back when not too many people were doing this swap. I remember seeing a couple of your street racing vids back in the day. They were definitely an inspiration for my swap.

Keep up the great work and hurry up and get that beast running!

That's how most of teh aftermarket fuel rails are actually. Mine's set up the same way with the Tomei rail, and the HKS one was like that also.

I'm building an ms unit right now too ! Did you figure out a way to use the stock CAS or will you go with the Ford EDIS setup ?

Doing the dual feeds for better and more even flow.

opticnerv- We will be using the stock CAS and it's stock wheel. My friend which is the wiz with it, is making it possible to run the stock cas, sensors, and stock coil pack. I will keep you posted in the next month and a half as we get it running.

DETurbine that's awesome ! Is there anyway I could talk to your friend ? I really want to keep everything stock too, but most people I've spoken to say it's not possible with the MS.

Let me talk to him this week. I am sure he could assist you.

I am Deturbines friend My solution for the cas uses an inexpensive PIC microcontroller on a seperate daughter board designed to fit in the megasquirt case. It uses firmware I programmed to decode the stock 360 tooth wheel in realtime and emulate a basic distributor setup that will work with any version of megasquirt or any ecu that supports a basic distributor setup. It only needs one input and one output at the ecu so you got plenty of outputs left for whatever auxillary functions you also want to use.It counts the spaces for each cylinder the exact same way the nissan ecu decodes so it can sync within one cylinder everytime. It outputs a single pulse at TDC for each cylinder and then routes a single ignition ouput from the ecu to the proper coil. It also has a customisable tach output that can be used to drive a 4cyl tach or any other tach with a reflash.

So far it all seems solid on the bench and has been tested on the bench to over 6k with no issues. If all goes well on Deturbines car I could probably throw together some extra daughter boards if there was any interest.

Deturbines MS is also recalibrated for the stock coolant temp sensor, so we just have to add a GM intake air temp sensor to the charge piping. PWM for the IAC valve has also been setup and seems to be working on the bench. We'll have to see how well closed loop idle control works with it once it is running or if its even needed.

First off I would like to say sweet build! I am in progress of putting together my new set up too, I just actually ordered the MS2 main board, relay board, and wire harness. I was planning on running a trigger wheel for the timing but if your friend has it figured out to use the CAS I would be interested in purchasing that set up as he discussed in his post. My question for you is, did you just assemble the board as the instructions stated or did you make any changes or add ons? I was not sure if I needed any of the other parts that they sell for the board. Any help would be much appreciated! And I can't wait to see a video of your car running, should be pretty sweet!

Deturbines is a MS1 with the version 3.0 board, most of the kits now come with all of the standard options you should need included. When it actually comes to assembling it there are serveral variables in the configuration you have to choose to select the proper cam/crank sensor type and the outputs depending on how you are driving the coils. If you are using the MS to drive more than one coil directly then there will likely be a few more basic components you will need to mod it to drive the additional coils as the version 3.0 board only natively supports ign output. The RB ignitors only seem to need a low current +5v singal to fire so the mods for this would be pretty basic.

To run my board you only need to build the input for an optical sensor and many of the components can be left out as stated in the manual. The igniton output is jumpered straight out as well. If I sold one I would say exactly what is needed to set it up.

Deturbines MS has the PWM upgrade for the IAC circuit which is explained in the assembly manual and the MS2extra manuals. The only difference is I built this circuit into the daughter board. I also setup the 3 stage shift light and 2 auxillary output circuits for warnling lights or relays(cel or whatever, havent decided yet) and another ourput circuit for VCT on the daughter board as well. The board handles both CAS inputs, all six ingition outputs and a customisable tach output on its own. I am still playing with the boards layout a bit to try and finalize the fitment in the case but its all working on the bench so far.
