Well, as most of you dont know, I grew up playing the drums, played all day, everyday, till I left for the Marines at 18. Well, 10 years later, its finally back in my life. Picked these bad boys up, and 2 days in so far, and loving them.

All of the cymbal pads are dual trigger, so for now the one crash cymbal is set up for High and low tone crash, and the 2nd cymbal is set up for normal ride, and dome sounds. I love this freaking thing.

I just need to add 2 more pieces once I get back up to par. I want to add a large ride cymbal, and a double bass pedal.

No, but they easily fit, with only doing the Basic collapse setting. So thats really nice. Very easy to take with me.

You wanna buy them for me? Actually, what are they, those models arent on their web site.

I bought these outright with my Tax return. So im happy. And this kit can upgrade far beyond what I will ever need. Best I could find on this kit was still over 1 grand by the time it got to my door.

If I get really back into into it full swing again, Ill buy a new full acoustic set.

Nice! I bought a new Mac with my return, so I guess this is the season for new toys!! Enjoy the drums (I wish I had rhythm!)

Very nice! So with those being digital and all, how loud are they to other people if you're wearing headphones?

Take a pen, or pencil, and smack it on your mouse pad as hard as you can. About that loud. I have a soft foam mouse pad, so if you have a hard plastic mouse pad, your results maybe louder. If I take my fingers, and tap pretty hard on my wooden desk, thats all ready louder than me playing drums. My girl had no problem last night watching TV down stair with me. The TV is about 10 feet away from the drum set, that way I can run the drum set off the stereo system for that TV when I dont want to wear headphones.

That's awesome. I have always wanted to get a set of drums and learn to play, but the noise of "regular" drums has always stopped me. We have our own home (detached) on a decent sized yard, but I still think standard drums would bother the neighbors. Especially in nicer weather when people want to open windows. Digital drums seem like a great way to go. I assume that when you run them through an amp and use headphones, they sound like regular drums to you...right? If you don't mind my asking, about how much would an average set cost?

When going through headphones, or an amp, they sound like real drums. This set actually comes with 32 preset full drum kit sounds, and over 100 built in sounds, so you can change the sound of each individual pad. I could make the snare sound like a cowbell and the cymbals sound like toms if I wanted to.

I hate to say it, but this is the cheapest Electric drum set, I would even consider buying. Acoustic sets are alot cheaper for a beginner, since you can pick up used sets all day long for 200-500.

The cheapest I know of for this kit, still broke the $1000 mark by the time it got to my house.

I figured this would be a good place to start, and if I kept with it, it offers tons of room to expand. But I only plan to add one more cymbal, and a double bass pedal. So once im fully expanded, ill have roughly $1300 in the kit when its done.

I have seen a used set of the same model going for $500 on craigslist before.

here's an example of a TD-8 kit. Basically, the td-8 and td-10 kits were 100% mesh drum heads, rather than the rubbery old-school e-drum pads...

Not that I have a set, but those are the gold standard for electronic drum sets, as they feel the closest to the real thing while maintaining all the advantages of an electronic kit.

Oh ok, yea my snare is the Mesh, and ive been thinking about down the road swapping them all over to Mesh. But ill wait and see how much use they still get a year from now.
