Well, last night I didn't think I could have any more bad luck when my computer crashed and deleted EVERYTHING on it. ( just bought a 500GB external hard drive so this doesn't happen again) Don't get me started on my computer situation...

anyway I woke up this morning running late for class. I ran out to start my car while my coffee was brewing and when the garage door reached the top of the ceiling a 10lb piece of skeletal metal or crossbeam or w/e broke off and crashed on my car, it was soo loud that I thought a gun went off. It ruined the paint on my trunk and took a notch out of my stillen wing. I just stood there and starred at what happened for a sec......then I got rly rly pissed and grabbed the metal piece and threw it like 20ft yelling some tribal scream.

I didn't even wanna look at my car so I went inside and finished putting sugar in my coffee and shaking my head disgusted with what had happened.

I didn't have time to look at it cuz I was late and I just got some time to take some pics a sec ago.

These pics don't do it justice, and since the car is dirty the damage didn't show up well, but just trust me it's bad. It did put two small dents in the trunk too but either way its still a $500 deduct. to get it repainted.

and here is the metal piece.... it was like 15 ft long and 10lbs!

That was definatly the saddest cup of coffee i've ever made...

and BTW while i'm complaining my Chem II lab partner didn't show up today leaving the whole expiriment for me to do alone

srry if this comes across as annoying but I needed to vent. thanks guys

First, sorry about the car. We all love our rides, so I would be crying if that happened to me. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but did that get through the clear coat on the trunk? I can tell it did on the spoiler, but the trunk is harder to see. If it didn't, it might not be that terrible to repair (trying to look on the bright side...)

I know you asked not to get you started, but please save that hard drive. All of your data is still there. Along with being a car and A/V nut, I'm pretty much a huge nerd too (rockin' the trifecta). When a computer deletes information from the hard drive, it just removes the storage info from the file allocation table (which allows it to be overwritten). Unless you experienced a mechanical failure (was your drive clicking loudly? - don't plug it back in to check because if it was it will destroy more data), most of your information should be able to be recovered. I don't know how much you had on there that you need and recovery does, unfortunately, come with a cost. I wish I was closer to you as I have some data recovery software available to me... Best of luck with everything.

Sucks about your car, but with a 15ft metal piece like that you've got to feel fortunate that it didn't find a window or cause even more damage than it did.

And to those with scratches by the door handle, are you talking about in that little concave hand hold BEHIND the door handle (where your knuckles go as you open the door)? Because I have a TON of scratches there and have no idea where they came from. I don't wear any rings on my fingers and never have anything in the hand I open the car door with. It's almost like someone with steel wool mittens has been trying to open the door to my car...!!!

Suck to hear about the car bro . Go after the home owners for repairs... LOL J/K if it's your folks. It can be repaired dude so don't trip on it. So how did the coffee taste sweet or bitter? Your lab partner is a real DOUCHE BAG for not showing up . Hope you got a good grade without his azz there .

well I took it in the the shop today the get a quote. There were two small dents where the metal hit and of course the gash in the wing. They are gonna blend the whole trunk, repaint the stillen wing, fix the dents, and fill a hail dent from like a year ago all for $475 bucks. I also told them to just fix and re-paint my spoiler, but just not install it, because I never really got a chance to enjoy the car w/o a spoiler since that was like my first mod. I may put it back on later tho.

Overall I think it was a good price. They charge $44 an hour and they are the best in town. The shop owner knows my dad so he didn't charge any tax, also we are unfortunatly regular customers.

They have repaired my moms 06 scion xA 3 times (she is a bad driver)

My coupe 3 times (once it was just painting my spoiler)

my dads 04 excursion once or twice

all this over the course of about 4-5 years lol

As for the coffee....no amount of sugar could take the pain away hahaha

good news is my dad said he would pay for it since my mom has been telling him for months to fix the garage door. Still makes me feel like a bum for not payin for it but w/e.

her a** lol and it's nice

See what I mean bro it will be fixed. SIHT I haven't seen or driven my car in damn near 3 months now because it's been up in SFR and It's killing me not being able to drive it. Your dad is going to pay for it because he feels that it was his fault it happend... Who knows if that's why it happend ...LOL. The price is good as well. Don't loose hope dude.
