SO......as some of you may know, i found a 240 on craigslist, and went to go see it this past saturday. I really liked it, and it wasnt as bad as i thought. So then today i go with my friend and we take the car to a mechanic to have it looked at. Thats when i discovered that it needs some work. So we go back and i offer the buy 700, and long story short, we agree on $900. The guy had the price listed at $1100. So i think its an ok price- it came with a few extra parts and i mean its really not as bad as it looks. Not really any rust on the rails or underbody. Dash is cracked and no radio. My plans for my new baby is to get her back to good condition first, then go from there. Main concern is the water pump leak, and it needs the fluids flushed and replaced, and alighnment, and a few other minor things. I know the exterior isnt very nice to look at, but i dont realy care about that....for now.Anyways, im proud to be an owner of a s13. Coupe love! pignose crew!1990 240sx XE coupe Enough talk, here's pics: (go ahead, any positive or negative comments, its all good)

Oh, and the HUD doesnt work, something about it reading wrong, and the driver side window doesnt work.(power window.needs relay?) and the guy before switched the coupe guages for the hatch guages. Also the owner tried to sand the paint down and spray paint the car black, but idk what happened. Major clean up this weekend is in order!

can you just...promise to not use those "performance pedals"?

youve already got unexplicable Orange County Choppers seat covers, but ill let that slide.

maintenance first, good idea. id also suggest some kind of somewhat decent paintjob in the near future, the only thing making that 240 look good is that:

1, its a coupe, and

2, its a piggy

make good progress! take good pictures! post often!

HUD doesnt work because you need a digital speedo to relay the signal to it. i guess its not a bad price considering the going rate for a running 240 in the Kansas area.

i got a little lucky on mine.

seriously, looks fresh out of a junkyard. by the time you get that back to prime, you are gonna have 4k into it, including price of car. but on a positive note, it is a s13, despite its coupe and piggyness.

Looks like it needs alot of work but good luck with it. That's the cool thing about buying a car that already needs work you can do whatever you want to it without being afraid that you are ruining the stock paint or ruining this or that.

Wow dude looks like you've got your hands full there. Btw, why were you going 38mph with the e-brake on and a door open?

Anyways, +1 for a KCMO 240.

looks like a solid start.

I would do the basic maintenace on the car, Take off the ugly *** hubcaps, And then take the car to macco for like $400 you can have an OK paint job. Well your doing that look around for an uncracked dash and some S14 seats, and get alot of elbow grease and the car will have a solid start.

Sure it's not as clean as SOME peoples cars, but $900 for a running/driving 5spd coupe is pretty rare with under 100K miles. So you put in about $1000 and the will be real nice imo.

Then from there it will be all the fun stuff (suspension, wheels, brakes, motor, etc)

i wasnt, idk why the brake light was on, and it might have to do with the e-brake needing to be adjusted. and the door light might have something to do with the auto seatbelts not retreating when i start the car..or whenever its suppost to.

IMHO Hatchbacks=Coupes...I love both too much to decide which one I like more.

i've never seen one for more than 1000K. that's a million dollars, yankees fan.

anyway, congrats on your purchase! sounds like you have your priorities straight and you'll take good care of it! i'm looking forward to seeing progress. also looking forward to seeing a good looking car . it'll happen, i'm sure.

nice pick up.

you can fix that up pretty good i'm sure. clean everything up, get some SE wheels, strip the paint and then use rattle can or something to at least make it one color...get some S14 seats and maybe a new dash. i think you'll do just fine man good luck.
