gloss white if you are gonna rattle, its temp obviously might as well make it shine somewhat.

they key to any paint job, whether rattlecan or not, is the prep work

if its only temporary than just scuff up the paint and spray primer and then the gloss white. Clear is pointless if only temporary. If its going to last a little longer, i would say put some clear on it just to make sure u dont get rust overtime.

GOOD LUCKits a good start and maintenance is the key, dont cheap out on maintenance

So i cleaned the car today and took out the trunk plastics, and basically half-stripped the car.just surface rust in the spare wheel well(yesss!) and not really any rust anywhere else.i got my s14 seat belts about 75% installed, all i have to do now is cut a whole in the panel for the swivel point and I'll be good. I'm glad i switched those auto seat belts out. Now I have to just put the rear seats back in, and then give it a good wash- that i will do on monday.Pics to come soon! Also, i picked up the s14 seat belts from a import auto parts place and it cost me $50, is this a normal price for just one assembly?

Nice progress. Paint, coils, and wheels would make a world of difference aesthetically, but I know that's probably not your primary goal. I applaud you for not jumping right into things like that and repairing what needs to be done first. Thumbs up for doing it right the first time.

i like it, it seems like rust isnt much of a problem for your car. my spare tire spot has a nice hole in it.

slicktop = all metal roof/ no sunroof

and from everyone that sees it in person they all say its not as bad as it looks...plus she drives great, just needs someone to love her.so to me, in a area where 240's go for 2-3-4,000 (hatches) i think 900 is a great deal for a decent condition coupe that needs minor work and a paintjob. im not a person that absolutely needs my **** to be perfect and pretty when i buy it, the joy for me is to see the transformation. so you all may think i overpayed for a peice of ****, i think i got lucky and found a jewel that needs a little polishing. thats all.

i don't think by "you paid 900 for that," that they meant it in a bad way.

I have seen people pay more for worse condition cars. Especially ones that took a lot more work to get running.

Good luck with the project.
