Bought another Z31 in Febuary, as my "daily driver" 87 has a broke wire somewhere, and I despise messing with the wiring. And then my "daily driver" Corvette blew out it's transmission. As per my nature, while looking for a new daily driver, I bought one with a bad motor. A bad motor I knew about before I even went to see the car...

86 Turbo; dark pewter ext with black cloth interior; motor didn't have compression... a shop rebuilt the heads, only to look down at the motor when going to install and notice that one of the pistons was f***. Got it for $450. Towed it home, dropped in a rebuilt T5, 84T motor with (a different set of) rebuilt heads, and swapped in the water cooled T3 originally in the 86. The car had been smoked in and I am allergic to cigarette smoke, so I've swapped out all the cloth stuff with interior parts out of an AE. With the exception of the door panels, I'm playing musical door panels with a friend for the AE panels, the ones in his 86T, and the ones in my 86T. :gapteeth: I seem to have an affinity for northern Zs, and this one is no different as it's originally from Minnesota so it has the normal rust.

My friend Ronnie, my friend Cameron, and I; when that picture was taken, had 14 Zs between the 3 of us. Now I only have 3, Cam still has 2, and Ronnie just has 6. Only 1 S30 at the moment, but we might be getting another S30 and another Z31 for $150 a pop sometime this week. Get back up to a respectable number, at least. :rotfl

Nice!

My first Z (and my current back up) was from Minnesota. Only on mine I soon discovered one of the windshield pillars was rusted all the way through. Not good. It had a nice bondo job though... It is a fun toy though, and as I said my back up.

Good luck with it! I like those seats!

Thanks man. If I had been able to work on it today, it would be running. Instead it was raining. So, I went and bought an air compressor. 5hp 60 gal for $100 and some really wet clothes.

If you plan to fix the rust on that Z let me know, I can cut you a replacement panel out of the poor AE I stole my seats from.

Bored, so update time. Stealing my posts from another forum pretty much. First!
The little bastard runs.
Nevermind.

Then I got it running again. And then I fixed the AC. And then the great wave came from under the dash and washed my friend out the window. And then I fixed the AC again. And then I got a 2.5" straight turbo back exhaust. And then the AC tried to explode. So I fixed that again. Then I ran codes to confirm that the warm starting issue was the FTS, but it turned out to be a faulty CHTS. f***. And then the AC tried to explode again, so I vented the air bubble. Then I put a muffler on the car, and on the way back the AC once again tried to explode. After further investigation, I guess that I'm spending $110 on a new expansion valve from Nissan since I haven't been able to find one elsewhere, which should keep my AC from trying to explode every 3 days. I still haven't found a stock 86 side skirt to replace the stolen one.

But it runs and drives good with AC that will freeze me out the car when it isn't trying to blow me up. So in a few days I'm driving it to South Carolina, and I'll deal with the CHTS and expansion valve bastards when I get back. :poke:
