junk yard parts are mostly junk parts period.try another one if you feel lucky and enjoy paying repeat labor,or dust of the mastercard and buy a nissan reman that will outlive the rest of the car

Failure mode is 3rd only.

Since you give us no description of condition or rehabilitation, difficult to tell if it is a missed connection or a messed up transmission.

Nissan rebuilt is the way to go unless you have too much spare time on your hands.

If you wish to maintain oem acceleration you need to stick with 90-93 transmission as the 94-96 were redesigned and offer less torque multiplication in 1st and 2nd.

At least your 93 TCU has 1st gear start.

The RE4R03A are electrically compatable 90-96 just a few internal gear differences in 90-93 and 94-96.

Usually electicals plug/sensor/solenoid problems will illuminate the AT message on diagnosic display.

WE have a less than 25% success rate with domestic junkyard units and a 70% rate with JDM takeouts shipped to US by reputable vendors vs a 98% success rate with Nissan rebuilds.

These numbers are not annual but over the years we've replaced 100+ of each type.

Maybe you'll be lucky and only have to swap 1-2 more US junkyard units to finally get a working one.
