I have never reneged on a beer promise...ever. It's sacrilege that you even mention something like that James :nono: Besides you already said you'd be happy to split the beer tab with me if I can make it to Omaha :yesnod Well I share...so now you share :dblthumb:

I finished the manifold up yesterday. It's not pretty but all I had was flux core wire since I ran of shielding gas. Also I wanted to mention that you shouldn't weld galvanized pipe, it releases toxic gases. I however had nothing else to use for the waste gate, so I was forced to use what I had on hand.

This JGS manifold has been beat up and rewelded 3 times now. The JGS manifold is a tank :yesnod

Glad to see you're at least working on the damned thing. Better than nothing I suppose. Even though you keep changing your mind....

Keep up the work man. I don't realize that my AIM shuts off when I lose what little wireless connectivity I have, or I would pester you more...

I would still love to do a Blown KA. I think to make it worth the effort you'll need to use a M112. That way you could run 15-20 psi without over speeding the rotors. Imagine 15 psi available at throttle tip in...thats a fun car :yesnod

It will be interesting to see how much power the KA makes with no ignition retard and 12-15 psi. I'm hoping for 350+...

Offsite linking isn't allowed, so there are probably sites like FA and Zilvia that get fire walled.

+1 for the super-turbocharger setup.

WD, what are you gonna make a fashion statment with a hood cutout for your wastegate?
From my angle it looks like you might have some fitment issues. Build threads are so much cooler when you just use what you got, nice job.

Going the turbo route now homie, had to ditch the charger as funds and time won't allow me to do it correctly. Boost or Bust by Omaha in June is my goal.

I won't have my car in race ready condition by Omaha. I just don't have the funds for it. No need to PM me, just ask whatever right here, assuming they are KAT related that is ;)

All of my suspension has over 100K, bushings, subframe spacers, shocks struts etc. I'm also running on 205-55's that have been sitting on the car for 4 years, they aren't in the best of shape. There isn't enough time and money for me to get everything done.

I'm close to boost, which is the main goal before Omaha.

I finished my fuel rail and over came my fuel press reg problem. I wasn't able to reliably drill out the fuel rail stock without a press, so I opted to go a different route. The ford 4.6 fuel rail has injector spacing that's pretty close to the KA, the #4 injector will sit canted a little bit. I used an Aeromotive rail a few years back from the 4.6 and it worked great. The problem I had with the stock 4.6 rail was needing a fuel supply barb to hook up the fuel line on the pressure side. So I cut the barbed end off of the spare S14 rail I had and welded it to the 4.6 rail.

I didn't have the cash to spend on a fuel pressure regulator, so I figured out a way to use the S14 fpr. I cut the stock S14 fpr mount off of the S14 rail, drilled it, tapped it, screwed a 5/16 hose barb into it and coated the threads and base of the barb in JB Weld to insure I wouldn't have any leaks.

For those of you that don't know, my operating budget is basically zero. So I'm having to do as much stuff as I can with spare parts and things I can fab

Hahaha, basically yes. When I was active duty USAF we'd always have squadron parties and whatnot, well everyone bought coolers at the Base Exchange...so they were all damn near the same. So the easiest way was to mark my cooler, nothing like a big red X to signal "stop, this is not your beer".

I bought that cooler in Korea in 97...

thats a good idea with the fuel rail. i noticed you got more gas for your welder lol. i have been thinking about making a stock fpr adjustable. i have a spare one and it would be easy to do.

Well figure out how to do it and let me know, I'll do the same. I didn't get more gas, just a spool of fluxcore wire. Requires more cleaning after the weld, but it's cheaper then gas.
