Nice looking build I am interested to see how it works out for you. I am currently working on a similar build but with a little bigger turbo on a stock block.

I will eventually. It was mainly that I bought a used Alum DS for my Vert when doing the 5spd on it. And felt bad that the coupe was left out. That and knowing that the the carrier bearing would be deleted.

I definitely wouldn't want any bigger turbo, lag on this is about the most I'd want. I got this size due to knowing I'd build an engine as soon as money allows.

As soon as the ebc is on and set and couple other things are figured out, I'll be setting up dyno time to make sure A/F is safe, so we'll see what I'm putting down. Will be low due to the JWT being rich, but hopefully 9-10psi will get me a little over 220.

More like a little over 270whp. 10 psi will net you a lot more power than you're thinking.

Unless you're just telling yourself low numbers so you'll be pleasantly surprised on the dyno, in which case carry on.

Wouldn't mind being surprised. I just know the butt dyno of 5psi isn't very good right now (lucky if its 165whp). But I'll do a run at 6psi and two runs at 10psi (will be my low and high boost settings).

Still hoping this ebc install works out without blowing anything up. Also have to install a new OEM Temp gauge sensor this week.

Didn't get any answers on my ebc questions, so I just started working today. Guess we'll see if it blows tomorrow.

Went to put in Alum DS, didn't fit. Figured out after talking to a friend the coupe has S14 Tranny and therefore dust sheild that needs to be removed. Will do that tomorrow.

Front pic since I had never taken one:

EBC install progress. Everything is wired, just have to go get a Tee fitting tomorrow to Tee the "Top" WG port/Turbo housing/Selenoid port. Haven't velcro taped it down in the din pocket yet until I see what problems I'll have. But after tomorrow it 'SHOULD' work.

You are correct, bottom of wastegate should see a boost source. Make sure you T it from something that just sees boost pressure, like the compressor housing or your hotpipe. Any vacuum will damage the diaphragm inside the wastegate.

You can barely see in the pics, but the lines are ran. Just have to get a Tee tomorrow. Selenoid and Top port on WG (one closest to Turbo, line says 'trust' on it) will be Tee'd with Turbo housing.

MORE BOOST IS FUN.

Boost controller seemed to work. With it off I was still at original WG Spring (about 5psi at intake).

CANNOT use Hi Boost setting (the lowest I could get it was 12psi, hit 14psi once for a second, fun but bad).

Lo boost setting set for 8psi at intake mani right now, more fun and louder. Will want to get dyno time and work with the EBC on the dyno, very hard to watch boost gauge and not wreck at same time. Probably want a good 9-10psi on the lo boost setting.

Thought for sure state trooper was going to pull me. Did a 3rd gear pull while he was behind me (not sure how far, he was in unmarked), but I never got over the speed limit (much).

On to the Alum DS issue and install, you'll see the copper colored S14 dust shield, took 2 hits with hammer to remove.

Dyno time set for next Friday (16th).

Guess we'll see what I can make (butt dyno at 8-9psi says 200 or so, doesn't feel that fast). And mainly to make sure A/F ratio is safe.

Also had sent my EGT gauge to Auto Meter, they tested it and found it is bad. New EGT gauge kit coming next week. Auto Meter is great company.

Replaced my OEM temp gauge sensor, nice to have a backup on that.

Dyno still tomorrow.

I really don't want to go to work tomorrow. Then have a 3hr drive to get to the dyno. Fun.

Just got back from TDC. That drive kinda sucked, too hot (90 down there or close to it). My left arm is horribly sunburnt.

I'll let TDC post the dyno stuff and then discuss. But its WAY rich (as in less than 10:1 after 4k rpms). Multiple runs thinking that the Wideband was messing up, but it was too rich to read. 2 runs at 4.5-5psi and 3 runs at 10.5-11psi (both seen at intake mani), all were consistant numbers.

Need to remind them to post them up.

Will say it was more than I was thinking on the higher boost runs. Will leave you with the 4.5-5psi at intake mani dyno'd at 185/203, you have to guess at the 10.5-11psi runs, until they post the dyno charts (may be Monday before they get to it).

Yeah, shop told me the car has 30+ hp left in it from being so rich.

I'm probably going to back the base FP down 1-2 psi. May get a Wideband to do a little street tuning or take it back to the dyno in a month or so and use the SAFC2.

You'd be surprised at the power difference between 11:1 AFR and 12.5:1. If it truly is rich, then backing the FP off 1-2 psi will only slightly lean out the entire map. Which is what you want. If you don't have a wide band then you don't wanna reduce the pressure more then 2 psi. When backing off the base pressure listen to the idle. If it gets rough at all turn it back up. Not that I think this will happen, but it's something to look for.

One of our OG KAT members made 350whp at 10 psi on a JWT tune and some S13 cams and a TO4B with a .63 AR hot side. I can't remember that dudes name, but it was not to long after I became a NICO member back in 02.

If you have the money, a rom tune is the way to go for sure. I think Enthalpy is offering a tune for $399 now.

I have JWT now, one thing that will hurt me right now is this is a '95 engine (S14 cams still). I'm going to just back off the FP 1psi for now.

Called it!

Awesome numbers though, I've heard good things about TDC. A friend of mine just got his KA-T tuned there, made about the same numbers, his wastegate sticks open though so once the Tial gets here I think he'll be running around 15 lbs.

Good call on backing down the fuel pressure. Should make a noticeable increase in power when your AFR's get sorted out.

And WD, Enthalpy is offering tunes for $299 through a group buy for this month. I'm willing to bet it's to compete with EFI Specialists' $300 tunes.

Nice! The graph looks really good, usable power from the get-go and a huge jump right after 3k. I like that, 3.5k is about the latest I would want a turbo to spool, and for a gt32 that's great. You still have a lot of room to grow too, that's always good. Car's exterior looks good too, really clean.

Cool. Will do. We usually do 'movie meets' occasionally during the summer in Raleigh. Also big local forum cookout in Greensboro probably in early Aug.
