Here is my project....20 some years ago this was my dads. He sold it to me...it blew a head gasket...hhmmmm how odd, I sold it . My Pop died in'88.

The new owner drove it and blew a head gasket, hmmmmmm how odd.  He parked it!

Fast forward to January of this year. I run into the guy he STILL HAD IT! I eagerly bought it for...uhhh...500.00$ bad brakes, blown engine, trashed interior and all! But s*** is was my dads. So it was worth twice that to me.

I have an L20b ready to go in. I have been buying all new brake parts from Ebay. It's gonna get a header before it goes in. Also a friend does upholstery and is gonna redo the bench seat.

It has an Auto trans in it and is going to stay..but I need newer flex plate and spacers.anybody have one to sell?...more later heres the truck...Dave

[font="georgia"]Cool story! Sorry cant help you with the tranny parts. When you install the header you can ditch the emissions stuff.

[font="georgia"]Not sure on the PCV valve. Ive talked with a few 521/620 guys who have them hooked up. And on mine I will not be running the EGR valve & the other round looking device next to it. Ill be running a Weber 32/36 so theres no use for it. The problem with removing them is that they're attached to a piece that when removed will leave the end of the intake exposed, plus theres a metal tube coming up from the Ex. manifold that also attached to the same piece. What you can do is what im doing...run an intake from an L 16 [no emissions] & remove the metal tube from the Ex. manifold & plug the hole with a bolt. ill post pics of mine when i do it, should be this week.

The engine and tranny are gone and I used a pressure washer on the engine. As soon as the weather is good on a weekend the new (used) engine and tranny are going in. I have a new header to go on, but need (want) twin side draught carbs and manifolds for it. Other than that & a new coil for the electronic dizzy and I'm ready to go!

What do you all think of the junk yard mags? Once cleaned up they should look great!

[font="georgia"]Dave now might be a good time to also pressure wash the engine bay & frame while its all out. I did mine then painted it all & wow what a difference. The rims are a 70's throwback but will look good on the 620.

www.racetep.com

It was about $155.oo to my door. I would like to put dual side draughts on for fuel.

I have a 32/36 that needs secondary linkage but would rather have SU's hanging off the side, more gas in =more H.P and the visual is also a real bonus with those. I think they look great!

I am going to drive about 85 miles this saturday to swap one of my automatics for a 4 speed this weekend. In the future I will put in a 5 Speed. For now the "free" 4 speed will do just fine.

Later...Dave
