I'm not much of a gamer(don't have the time anymore), aside from being a big fan of the Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Gran Turismo, and Tekken series. Some games have really great music and I thought there should be a thread to showcase these great songs.

Final Fantasy X-2 ~Memory of Lightwaves~Just a beautiful track, love it. Don't know who composed it though.

Final Fantasy X ~Intro~I think Nobuo Uematsu composed this one. He's composed the music on most FF games.

Final Fantasy 8 ~Fragments of Memories(orchestral)~Another track composed by Uematsu.

Tekken 5 ~Poolside~I absolutely love this track, I pick the Poolside stage in this game just to hear it. The track was composed by Hiroshi Okubo, he's composed music for a lot of Namco games. Even though this is a song off of a video game, it sounds way better than most of the stuff I've heard from Tiesto, BT, or any other mainstream Trance DJ.

Tekken 6 ~Electric Fountain~A track off of the new Tekken 6 game, don't really know who composed it. Love this track, I haven't really played Tekken 6, hopefully the rest of the soundtrack sounds this good.

It just surprised me how some games have really great music. Gone are the days of the Super Mario Bros themes.

Anyone else have some favorites?

I like the Super Mario RPG OST. Classic mario tunes with sweet beats.

Battletoads has some sick songs in it.

I used to listen to mechwarrior games, just skip track 1.

My favorite from all of the old school games was the first stage from Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. The beginning of the song is my ring tone.

The soundtrack from 1997's Heavy Gear is excellent. And, awesomely, it's on youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated

There are quite a few tracks from Half Life and OpFor that are great to listen to as well, particularly tracks 14, 16, and 17. You can find the whole thing on youtube.

The Command and Conquer games ALL have excellent soundtracks. First PC game I ever got was a box set of Red Alert with both expansions...and the soundtrack on audio CD. The C&C soundtracks are all available on iTunes. Google Frank Klepacki for awesome, too.The most recognizable is, of course, Hell Marchhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SQVvfFTcEkThe updated HM2 for RA2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WqwFhX6CqgMore C&C awesomeness. Oh, the memories!!!!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated
