I cant seem to find the weight of the motorsets for our cars...

I'm wondering if the RB25det motorset (engine + trans) would be heavier or lighter than the L26 motorset.

I'm guessing the rb motor itself might be lighter due to an aluminum head vs steel, but the RB trans outweighs the L26 trans.

Just wondering if anyone has compared weights of the two, or a before swap/after swap weights...

i am pretty sure the RB is going to weigh a good bit more, the L6 also has an aluminum head, only it's a smaller single cam head with half the valve train of it's RB sucessor, the RB trans I knwo weighs more, keep in mind the RM was designed as a replacement to the L6 and shares some architecture, the RM head will bolt to the L6 block, the coolant and oil passages are all wrong but it will bolt on, also the RB manifolds are larger and heavier, I'd suspect all in all, the RB package will be around 100 lbs heavier

I did some searching and a fuly dressed 5 speed L28 with trans is about 580lbs, I can't seem to find any weights for the RB, I did determine that the aluminum block SR only weighs50 lbs less than an Ls and that the SR actually weighs about 50 lbs more than an L4 which is iron block!?
