im looking at ordering a complete running motorset from jhot for 1200 bucks.. shipping included. my only issue is it has 90k miles on it and i dont have alot of extra money.. is this worth it or should i wait... also.. what is the most viable front mount intercooler setup if im only looking to get 300-305 hp MAX on this engine. would a universal core with custom piping being bent be best? or would an intercooler out of a supra or something work better... does anyone on here do custom piping that i could purchase or where locally should i ask.. thanks!

If you don't mind the weight, I use off the shelf exhuast pipe. It comes in various sizes with mandrel bends.

alright thanks.. but what about my question on the motorset from jhot.. is it worth it.. i mean im anxious to get a ca18 but should i wait or just order it . as i know the motors are becoming scarce.. oh i almost forgot.. could you hook me up with the necesarry piping if im interested in exhuast pipes... how would i go about a bov setup and waht are you using.. i think i like the hks ssqv because it is extremely efficient and from what i hear eliminates the idle problem that many people have

I'd change the pumps, gaskets, seals, and turbo and cross my fingers and go!

I changed nothing on my motorset from Jhot, it had 88,000 KM on it. Since swapped I've had to change out nearly all the coolant hoses (oil cooler, throttle body, etc) and 2 of the coilpacks have burned out, but their motorset came with everything I need. That price sounds high, mine was under $1000 shipped and that included a blitz metal filter.I use an older HKS bov and haven't had any problems.
