I love my car... really...

But it makes me wonder, when I'm cruising down the freeway at 60 MPH (and I mean cruising, not another car withing 500 feet of me and everyone is going the same speed) and the ABS light comes on for 3 seconds then turns off, WTH is going on with the car.

I didn't even touch the brakes when this happened. Like I said, I had cruise control set and there was noone around.

This is the latest episode in its recent psychotic behavior. And something else utterly random that I get to have the dealership test fo. *sigh*

you know I think your one of those people who need lots of attention, and so your just wishing things go wrong with your car, its like your making it your attention getter. (Maybe your the one being psychotic)

I don't think Ever Victorious is the conceited type. Something happened and he posted about it. A general rule of thumb on a forum would be to have something on your mind and post about it. That's it.

A forum like this lives and breathes by people discussing the following..

- Strange car behavior.

- Running into someone.

- Being hit by someone.

- Having pictures.

- Questions that have already been asked and can be found via the red search button.

Dude, I think she was kidding.

As for the psychotic car... maybe it's possessed. Have you tried holy water EV?

Actually, on a serious note, I had my TMPS light start flashing at me this morning while I was on the freeway. It flashed for about 30 seconds then went solid, and shut itself off about 4 miles later, before I could even get off the freeway and check my tires. I got to work and checked the tire and they were all at 35 PSI, right where I left them. Could it possibly be the same evil spirit haunting me, too?

I had the same issue with TPMS today. I searched for holy water, but the light went off after 10 seconds of blinking.Next time I will use garlic - maybe a Transylvanian vampire has a "Home Sweet Home" hanging in my car.

EV I drive a school bus for a living and our abs light comes and goes whether or not we touch the brakes the diagnosis for the light coming on is a faulty abs sensor or dirt between the abs sensor and the brake system.

Our solution while driving down the road with the light on is to pull over and shut the vehicle down and restart it and the problem goes away until the shop replaces the sensor.

I know that school buses and small cars like the versa are different type of vehicle's but the solution to the problem should be the same.

I knew she was joking... besides, it's well documented that I'm an attention whore. Just look at my post count.

I forgot to pay my holy water bill this month, that must be it...

Re: TPMS sensor: Mine did that today too. I hit a pothole hard enough to trigger the sensor. I'm surprised I didn't bend a strut or a rim...

That actually sounds reasonable. If it's dirt or grit of some kind, that could also explain away some of the grinding noise I'm getting...

This happened on my Frontier, once, without provocation. One of your wheel speed sensors may be dirty or failing.

Could it be the ambient temperature affecting pressure slightly?

I can't speak for everyone else, but that certainly wouldn't be the cause in my case. I drive 70 miles each way to work and back and was already about 35 miles into the trip. It was about 55 degrees out (which is a pretty darn warm morning) and I'm sure the tires were much warmer than that after being driven for 35 miles. I was going about 75 miles per hour when it started flashing and went solid after about 30 seconds. I was only about another 4 miles up the road when it shut back off, just as I was about to exit the freeway and check if I had a flat or something. This was a span of about 3 or 3 1/2 minues and the temperature didn't change at all during this time.

I'm not sure if anyone else had a similiar situation to mine, but it couldn't have been the temperature. I believe I may have been changing lanes when it happened, and I suppose it could have been caused from the TPMS sensor being jarred as I drove over the little reflective bumps between lanes. But I've driven down some harsh dirt roads and it's never flashed at me before. I'll have the dealership check it out when I visit them Monday for my oil change.

Sometimes the ABS light flashing is a sign of low brake fluid, which could mean its getting close to replacing brakes.

It could have also been a bump. I have had the ABS light flash on the Xterra on wash boarded roads.
