Mood Lighting??

I get my Rogue Tomorrow night, very excited. I ordered the Rogue SL, AWD Premium, and black cloth seats (No moonroof since it cut into my headroom). I havent test driven at night time. What is the mood lighting? Is there accent lights somewhere? I really dont understand what they do necessarily or where they are.

Are there any owners out there that can shed some light on this?

A small orange light is located next to the passenger's map light.

Page 2-45 in our owner's manual:

"The light [4] (if so equipped) will illuminate when the headlight switch is turned to the [parking light] or [full headlight] position."

Does it even emit anything significant in the dark that is visible?

I haven't noticed anything funny as far as lighting goes. I do like the fact that when you click the unlock button on your key it lights up the interior of the vehicle (my last car didn't do that, it's the little things). the center orange digital circle that holds the information for temp and gas is a little bright at night but not to bad. I like the white numbers as well.

Nothing really significant, just the center console is lit a bit. You can notice the difference by just blocking the orange light with your thumb...

I think it is to illuminate the center console. makes it easy to find your drink in the drink holder at night. Also lights up the shifter in case you want to use it in manual mode. You can see what you are doing. That's my best guess. Whatever it is, it's cool.

I love the ambient lighting! I noitced it the first night that I drove it. It lights up the shifter and cup holder area with a soft orange light. I didn't even know it had that feature and love it.

The little light works really well to pass things back and forth between the driver and passenger at night time.

the little orange light sheds just enough light to find something. i like that feature alot
