Yeah, I saw that. He had a foot injury before they tapped him for that fight, though... I don't know, I don't wanna hate on the guy, but he's probably gonna be suspended for a while.

Yeah, the way the UFC works, it would have been at least 4 months before he fought again anyway.

rofl...kinda....

I'm glad Anderson Silva went to management and told them he wants more fights.

he's suppose to defend against Cote in October now.

he'll probably smash him....but it should be a good fight for about 2 minutes.

I think Cote has enough chin to maybe make it to the 2nd round. Maybe.

has he ever been knocked out?

I really can't remember...

hell, Franklin showed a helluva chin until he ran into Silva...so did Leben....

Nope. 4 losses, but none by knockout. 2 submissions, 2 decisions. And you're right - Silva has stopped quite a few people who hadn't been stopped before... But I still think Cote might make it to the 2nd.

Sweet a MMA thread!

Any predictions on the Liddell vs. Evans fight coming up? I am on the fence because Liddell just came from a victory from Silva and Evans had a draw with Ortiz...and Liddell kicked Ortiz's ***

I think Rashad's probably going to get KO'd in the process of chasing Chuck around - much like what happened to Babalu in his 2nd fight against Chuck. Don't get me wrong, I like Rashad and I'd like to see him win, but I just don't see it happening. Besides, even if Rashad is able to squeak by with decision, the next person to get a title shot at LHW is probably going to be Machida anyway, and I don't think Rashad can beat him, either...

rashad's a smart fighter...but his wrestling isn't strong enough to get liddell down and keep him there.

I figure he'll get a TKO in the second...

I personally wish they'd bury Machida back into obscurity...

actually, I'd like to see them put him in against Wanderlei....that'd be a great fight....kinda like Quarry Starnes...only a lot more Brazillian.

and Silva REALLY looking to get a hold of him and lay the pain down.

I was so happy when old Axe Murderer showed up and wrecked Jardine...nothing against him..but Silva's one of the nicest guys to ever beat the hell outta someone like that.

It was nothing short of a miracle that chuck beat the axe murderer that one time IMO.

Sort of a fantasy match up, but man I would kill to see Anderson Silva and George St. Pierre fight...The hyped GSP vs. BJ Penn should be good too.

there's a rumor that if Chuck wins against Rashad and doesn't get any kind of medical suspension and same for Anderson against Cote...that they'll hook up at 205 for the December show.

hell, I can't remember which site reported it now...

one of them with MMA somewhere in the name

I'm really hoping Penn GSP II happens on that card...BJ's saying he's not gonna fight until early 09 though

I saw an interview on Sherdog.com where Dana White said that Penn/GSP 2 was going to happen at the New Years Eve show... Won't matter to me unless they have PPV in Iraq.

Suck? nah. Part of the job, bro. I'm Navy - the odds of me doing anything really dangerous are pretty slim. The soldiers and marines have all the REALLY hard jobs. But I leave in November - I think the eighth.

Randy-Lesnar Nov 15

who takes it?

I wanna say brock..but Randy can't be understimated ever.

it'll be the hardest fight he's ever had I think...or over real fast with an anaconda.

i think lesnar is too sloppy when he fights and that's because he doesn't have a lot of MMA experience, just wrestling. I think randy is gonna outcondition him and possibly finish with a submission or decision.

Any predictions on the fight this saturday? I think liddell is gonna win

Yeah, me too. He felt the same way as I do about some people being born warriors or having a warrior spirit. From what I saw and read of him, he was always the consummate gentleman and professional before and after his fights and an excellent representative of the sport... Sucks, man. Tanner's gone, but Ken Shamrock and Phil Baroni are still healthy as mules.

there's still a lot of good fighters coming up in the sport too.

Jon Fitch got my respect against GSP.

dude didn't give up...or even THINK about it.

just kept getting up and looking for a way to win.

True... Fitch is a bad dude. Joe Stephenson is up there, too, in my opinion. He doesn't talk crap and he never quits trying to win no matter what.

Oh, and hey - nothing to say about Chuck getting KO'd or are you trying to put it out of your head?

**** happens.

that was a BRUTAL shot from Rashad though....Greg Jackson's got his number.

I think Page trained with him some before the title fight too...

I've been a fan of Joe Daddy from his KOTC days...I need to go get another big collection of shows again...good entertainment on a lazy sunday...****..I forgot I have a bunch of Bushido dvds where Best Buy had them for 5 bucks a peice....I got like 3-9...

You know Page moved to England to train at Wolfslair with Bisping and his team, right...?

And yeah, the first time I saw Joe fight was in KOTC - or was it Gladiator Challenge? I bought a 5-disc set from SunCoast one time and watched fights all weekend. That's second-best to spending a weekend fighting or training...

I can't remember if he fought in GC or not...

he held a title for KOTC before he was on the Ultimate Fighter though.

I <3 those big box sets they have....I need to go check out a few other places to train in Nashville...and find a way to get the scratch to join one.

I could use the Brian Stann method and join the Corps though...
