Still on original brakes.

They last much longer with a 6 speed manual.

Brakes sux on my 05 Sedan! At 30K miles I need new rears & my wife doesn't drive the car hard.I used a spring out of a ball point pen to replace the one in the cup holder.I bent both ends out, works great!!

Very cool!!! Initially, I had gone to Infiniti to get a price on just the cup holder and they said I would have to get the compartment too.....$200++ Of course, they had no springs....I use a small pick & stick it in one end of the pen spring and pull it straight, then do the other end.

All miles on regular 87 octane by the way.

Still runs great!

Telcoman
Another important day today that will be reached later this afternoon.

With 60k miles and figuring an average 20MPG that comes to approximately using 3000 gallons of regular gasoline. At $.30 a gallon cheaper than 93 octane I figure I've saved $900.00 in 2 1/2 years of owning my G 35.

Boy ten thousand miles sure went quick.

And so did the value of my 401k

Got it out Saturday and drove it to Tupelo, MS to the auto museum there. It was good for it to have a few hours of 80mph on the clock. It makes me nervous to head out like that in a car that basically sits in the garage. I keep it maintained, but it is 17 years old. :ohno:

I need to decide if I'm going to sell it or keep it. Some of the hoses are original, the brake fluid is, p/s fluid is and the shocks/struts are. It needs some updated parts.

I know the feeling. I have 2 cars that are 19 years old, one with about 190k on the chassis and a turbo installed. Both sit for a week or 2 at a time, any long trip makes me nervous and I carry tools for those trips usually.

No really, we were in a line up of about 7 cars. Somebody surely would have had some duct tape if I had had any problems.

Welcome to NICO

Here is a photo of my plugs that were changed at 106682 miles in January 2010

Almost all miles on regular 87 octane.

Very few on this forum here admit that they use regular all the time.

I'm now at 163k

Cool!

I would like to see it. I believe it has been at the Orpheum Theater here. If I'm not mistaken, we had the first showings.

Memphis would be a great city if we could get all the crime under contol. :tisk: All our tax dollars are spent on Police and keeping people in jail. This once was a beautiful city. Now it is nothing but blight and boarded up buildings. I actually live in a small town called Piperton right outside of Shelby County. All the decent people have fled the city. Really sad.

Very nice!!!
BTW, I've been putting the mid-grade in the 08 G35X with no noticeable difference except a slight drop in MPG. I've also run REGULAR in her too lately to off set the gas cost.....no pinging notice either.
