I know this is yet another stereo install question but I need some questions answered...my apologies! I am wanting to add four 6.5 inch JBL speakers to my car but I am not wanting to cut off the factory wiring harness. I found a Metra speaker wiring harness but I'm not sure it will work with the Versa. Has anyone used these? The model number is DW-7400SH...I'll put picture with this post as well. Also, does anyone know if swapping speakers will effect the Bluetooth capabilities? Thanks in advance!

He's talking about individual speaker harnesses, not the HU and antenna harnesses.

According to Crutchfield, no speaker harness adapter is available. They say you WILL have to cut the wires and splice.

I checked Crutchfield first and got the same result. I then checked the Metra website and they listed this harness for the Versa. I'm not sure which one is correct. I'll probably have to remove one of the back door panels...just to verify. I'm pretty set on NOT cutting the factory harness so I may have four brand new JBL 6.5 inch speakers to unload. The factory speakers are not bad...I just want something a little clearer.

well i cant find the metra site... can you supply a link, BUT.. what do you have a against cutting the wire? just cut it an inch and a half ish above the connector... so when your done with your new ones, just hook the connector back up?... i just took 2 lengths of wire, extended the stock wire, crimped on connectors on the end to slide right onto the aftermarket speaker's wiring terminals... about 10 minutes a speaker... piece of cake

They show that there is a metra speaker harness kit. Some people do not want to cut off the connector just in case they ever want to hook up the original stock speakers again (if buying a newer car and transferring over the speakers or for whatever other reason).

I've never cut the wires in any of the cars I've owned just in case I want to put the factory speakers back in. I used these exact speaker harnesses in my 1995 Altima and my 2000 Sentra but I'm thinking the factory harnesses may be different on the Versa. Like I said before...it's fairly easy to peel the panel off one of the back doors and verify first hand if they work. I just thought I may run into someone on here that may have used the harnesses by Metra.

The guy at Best Buy said they do not make the harness yet for the Versa so you have to cut the wires...

For the record: I DID NOT have Best Buy install my speakers, heh...my brother-in-law helped me do it.

That's what I was afraid of and I didn't think to call Best Buy (I don't trust Circuit City). I guess I'll keep the factory speakers for now. They're not that bad and hopefully they will get better after they break in. The Rockford Fosgate sub helps out a lot. I'll be putting the JBL speakers on ebay once they come in the mail.

I pulled the panel off one of the rear doors to see of the Metra speaker harness will work and it does not. The factory harness going to the speaker is much larger so the Metra's are going back to the store. I'll be putting the JBL speakers on ebay soon. They are JBL GTO627 6.5 inch speakers and I'll be selling them for $75/pair with free shipping (paid $99/pair) if anyone is interested. I'll post a link to the ebay sale soon.

Speakers don't "break in", they wear out little by little every time you use them

i understand people dont want to cut so they can put in their stock speakers... but if you cut it a good inch and a half or 2, or even less, there is enough wire to restrip and recrimp/solder or w/e the connectors back on... i plan to put my stock speakers back on, i kept the connectors, just need to reconnect the wires.
