Your question is oddly worded...

Are you talking about:

- Timing Chain Guides? If so, which of the 3, only 1 of which should be removed
- Valve guides? Thats a whole other mess of problems.

The title of your post made me think you had a detonation problem - which is exactly what it sounds like, the shaker in a can of spray paint.

What exactly are you trying to diagnose?

Can you post a picture?

I'm trying to help, but I honestly dont know what youre talking about.

Hey,

I am having the same problem. Just got my 240SX about (2) weeks ago. And since I have bought it, it has the "Marbles in a tin can" sound to it. I have read about it somewhere it is a Timing Chain guard or cover? Please correct me if I am wrong. I need help with fixing this issue, I should have waited to do everything together as I have already completed the Valve Cover Gasket, but I am sure I can wait for the next couple months if so be it. But any advice on how to remove this, or on how to fix this issue?

Much appreciated!

Thanks!
