i'd like to put my oil pump on tomorrow but nissan says there is no gasket, just silicone, but when i took my current one off there is paper. I have some nice gasket paper that i cut out a pretty good gasket to fit the pump, you guys think this is a good idea? also, you think its better for the gasket to stick out a little or to be in a little where i can see the metal of edge when i put the gasket on? there is a tiny place where i cut to thin and i can see about 1mm of the edge of the pump where the gasket should be, im pondering making a new one, so is there anything bad about sticking out a little past where the two flat surfaces meet?

I would try contacting one of our Nissan/Infinity sponsors instead of your local dealership. Maybe they can get you the part number or the gasket. If nothing else, print of the page in the FMS (Page EM-33) That shows that it's supposed to have a gasket.

Using home-made paper ones are OK, But I don't like using them on anything that's hard to get to, and the oil pump DEFINATLY qualifies.

SHOULD be part# 15066-16A00, alt part# (what you're likely to get) 15066-D5700; and thats in the US parts database - same as KN13 Pulsar w/ CA16DE or CA18DE.

just added it to my PartsDB, since I've already looked it up, I need to get around to actually finishing it up..
