i agree i think that the 180 sx taillights are probably the best way to change your taillightssearch for 180sx and you'll find some nice pics$500 is alot though

I'm going to shave my third brake light when I have my decklid shaved. I don't see why it wouldn't look good.

painting your tail-lights, uh, no. just follow the direction of the other wise ones; get the 180sx tails and center piece. they look amazing. one of the best apprearance mods on a s13 FB in my opinion, if not THE best.

I saw some place on the net that can turn the turn signal part of the rear lens on a stock s13 from yellow to white, they wanted 500 bucks for that can i do it myself??? and how??? With stripper or something??? its looks pretty trick and seems liek it can and should be easy.

I was thinking about that too. I wonder how i could make my turn signals and 3rd brake light clear. Nail polish remover? Or just sand the colour off of the lens?

no, they dont. and what the guys are talking about is the later model 180sx lights. they have solid red lenses and round parts where the lights are. the older model 180sx lights look just like the USDM 240sx tailights, but it says 180sx instead of 240sx, and they'll run you about $100. but if you change the lights, change the side quarter windows. it looks really bad when your car says 240sx on the side windows, and 180sx on the back.

i was thinking about somehow tinting the lights so during the day the whole thing would be darker. tho i saw in a vid they took off the turn signals (put metal over it or somthing) so the whole thing was one bar.. it looked awsome but its illeagle.. (it was on a drifting car not for the streets im thinking)

I wonder how 180sx tails would look on a s14. Probably could do it with some heavy modification.

Hell yeah, I had the exact same idea, me and my friend are eventually gonna try and do it sometime this month.

As for the 180sx, or type x rear lights, i think thier called kouiki lights. I think you can find them at a nissan site for 500(like everyone said)

I would love those 180sx tails, but alas I currently have no job and attend college:(. But I did do some creative painting to my tails for now, if anyone want to take a look...http://www.cardomain.com/id/v19312

Whoa, v19312 has some kinda red fetish! haha, the brakes look better than I expected though. Much better than when my friend tried to paint his del sol brake lights....they looked good too, from 1000 feet away at least.

Hey rudee - was the wiring pretty simple for the kouki tail? I read the colors are different from the factory harness. Thinking of getting this mod soon since my tail lamps are leaking anyway (kit comes with butyl seal, might as well do it all at once) but my wiring skills are non-existent.

you arent crazy jspec, i really like the stock ones too. so different from all the other lights out there. i really like clearcorner's replacement stock type lights that are clear and red. i just want to find a way of doing it so i dont have to shell out $225 :( but i think they actually make a new lens, not strip the color of the old ones. i dont even think you can strip the orange off the stock lights, i think the lens is molded in orange plastic. oh well, that will be one of my future rice mods. that and the 180sx chuki/zenki centerpiece and 180sx 1/4 windows.

I also like the stock tail lights but not as much as the kouki ones.. Best way to go about making the s13 rear end look good is to match the center garnish with your car's color. It'll only cost about $40 to get it done and it'll look real sexy.
