Hey Guys I am in need in of serious help.....

I have a 2003 M45 and the TSB bulliton for the transmission was installed on it. Just a ECM reburn, no other parts (is this correct)Since that point I feel like someone put a restrictor plate on the car. My G meter went from 5.5 sec 0-60 to now a dissapointing 6.5. I lost a whole second! The car feels very sluggish now, hesitates horribly and when I don't push it and drive easy which is most of the time, it stumbles at 2300 rpm especially and it feels like a dead spot.I took it back to the dealer and of course they have no codes or nothing. They drove it and said it was fine (i know I should of went with them on the test drive) Their excuse was that I had aftermarket pedal covers. What complete utter morons!!! Anyways this really sucks, I loved my car, even when it shifted to hard when I bought it. Now I just have a slug. I drove a G35 sedan as a loaner and it was way faster and smoother then my M. This is not the car I bought and I want to get this fixed. What should I do? HELP

Thanks,Pete

pete;

They obvisouly mad some kinda mistake during the "reburn".M45's tend to become faster not slower after those reburns.

Keep on them or try another dealer (if there is one nearby)and explain to them the problem in detail and especially your G meter readings.

Be polite and calm but firm.

It <will> get fixed!

Thanks Fred for the quick reply. Thats what I heard also. I think the put the Q45 old trans reburn on the car!Could you forward the problem to a online infiniti mechanic and ask if they have had this problem?

Thanks again,Pete

I heard something about with the G35s, that you need to unplug the battery for a while every so often, because the computer sorta starts cutting back on engine power......

Id disconnect it for an hour or so, or unless you dont wanna drive anymore today, unplug it and leave it like that overnight......

Computers... sometimes I wish I had an old red Mustang. Okay, not really. :)

If the dealer continues to give you troubles after politely explaining the issue to them with the information give above, try another dealer or call these folks:

Infiniti Consumer AffairsP.O. Box 191Gardena, CA 90248800.662.62009:00am - 6:00pm Eastern / Central Time 8:00am - 5:00pm Pacific Time

Regardless of any mishaps at the dealer, Infiniti wants your repeat business.

Good luck!

Well thanks so much for the advice guys. I unhooked my battery and will leave it that way overnight. Is there an advantage to doing this overnight compared to just a second?I hope it works!Any place I can read info on this computer garbage on these cars. Thanks Pete

there are capacitors, I think overnite might be a minimum.

I dimly remember reading soemthing about a probelm simliar to yours among reflashed G35's and the fix was battery unhook ,I am not all that certain this is the proepr fix for you or wetehr it worked there but its worth a try.

Fred and Elwesso,

Thank you so much for your help. I left it dissconnected over night and just drove it right now. IT IS FIXED!! Car runs great, better than before! No more sluggishness or bad shifts. In fact it is as fast as before but smoother.I guess that the computer needs to be rebooted in order for the new settings to take effect, that would totally make sense. But the dealer did'nt know this and they will find out when I call them tomorrow. Its inexcusable that they blamed it on pedal covers when their knowledge of really understanding the situation was so limited! But the great news is thanks to you guys its fixed.

Thanks Pete
