I've just bought a 1989 jdm 2+2 TT auto and have the current issues.

Indicators are not working - the hazards work all bulbs work, fuse is ok, my hazard switch and pod is broken but I've taken it out and played around to see if it's jammed but no change.

Hicas and abs lights are on hicas is not working as the rear of the car feels very unstable over bumps etc.. checked fuses.

Lastly the auto trans in D will start in 2nd gear and won't change, the trans will go into 1 if I select it and then shift it to 2 or D over drive doesn't work but light works hold lights up but power doesn't.

The owner I purchased it off told me the hicas abs and gearbox issues all happened at the same time and that this happened 4 years ago and he thought the auto electrical shop fixed it (and thought it was a fuse)

Any help would be much appreciated.

If it were me I would first check every single fuse on the car. Needle nose pliers headlamp knock it out. Really not too bad then you'll know if its not a fuse "per say.

After that assume you missed the fuse. Go back with a test light with everything on in the car and touch all the metal dots on the backs of the fuses. Mark any that dont light up the test light.

After that perform a continuity test with a multimeter on all that did not light up.

After all that you will then know if it wasnt a fuse.

If its not a fuse clean all grounds from the battery engine or frame you can find. Get a brand spanking new battery.

If none of that fixes it. We can help more.

7 out of 10 times.... The problem is just that simple a fuse, bad grounding or battery.

Thanks for the fast reply I will double check all fuses, had to put a new battery when I bought it a few days ago. Will post back in the next few days once I've checked all fuses I assume it's just the 3x locations (1× next to gas pedal, 1 down from the battery under the hood and 1x by the firewall on the right side)? I haven't checked any grounding

So I checked fuses today and noticed the 3 ignition fuses only had 3v coincidently those 3 fuses are indicators, auto ecu, and hicas. Didn't have enough time to pull the fuse box out but I suspect the relay behind the fuse box may be dodgy?
