I know the VG30DETT is swapable, but wouldnt this be easier? It fits with the Y32 chassis

The VG30DET is a 3.0-liter, 24-valve, quad-cam, VTC-equipped engine equipped with a T3 (Nissan N1 Type) 4-bolt Garrett Turbo running between 7.5 and 11.5 psi. It generated 222 to 255 hp (190 kW) and measuring between 198 and 236 lb (107 kg) per foot depending on boost level, intake manifold, intercooler, and other factors.

While this engine is similar to the VG30DE, it used different heads and inlet manifold. Contrary to popular belief, it was NOT available in the Nissan 300ZR model - the 300ZR only had an early version of the VG30DE (no turbo). The engine was available in the Cedric, Gloria, Cima and Leopard chassis.[2] It's a single-turbo engine that was used from 1987 through 1995 in Japan and the predecessor for the VG30DETT, the engine that was released in the 1990 300ZX Twin-Turbo.

It was available in the following vehicles:

Nissan Cedric Y32 (1991-1994) Nissan Gloria Nissan Cima FY31 (1988-1991) Nissan Leopard

Good luck finding one. I looked for a little while, but couldn't find a place with one.It would be kind of sweet if it was a direct swap. I suppose you could get some decent power out of it if you knew what you were doing.Gaining 60ish hp in a direct swap, if it's cheap enough, wouldn't be too bad.

depends if the VG30DE Trans will fit, unless the Vg30DET comes with one. What about the driveshaft/suspension/ECU/mounts?

I'm sure the transmission is beefier.Like the Q transmission if I recall.

Nice find, but IMHO, I think the TT swap would be easier. More power, more turbos, more everything!!! Plus it's been done more than the single turbo swap.

IMHO if you were going to do a swap you might as well swap with a TT motor or a VH45 or VH41(if you can locate one)...@ least the TT is more mod friendly as well as if you wanted to you could easily get 500+hp out of it...ive seen a few modded VG30DET's but not any making that amount of pwoer for the same amount of money...if your looking for a good dollar to horsepower ratio(meaning if you want to do it cheapest)there really isnt a route...like ive told you before youre going to get what you pay for and in the case of our Js its definately going to be alot...as far as your ecu you could have JWT do it or you could get Nistune or Ostrich2 and figure out a way to program it yourself...im unsure how you would wire it as well...your motormounts could be OEM replacements and your driveshaft will have to be custom fabbed....as far as your transmission a good valve body upgrade and new torque converter will be needed as well....

in conclusion if your wanting to do a serious swap save up @ least 10k for parts and labor before getting started and even think about modding...

You're probably looking at about $3,000 or so.

i meant 10k after you did the swap and then modded out the TT motor including bigger turbos, intercoolers, internals, injectors, etc...

And I meant $3k for the juice and the beefy transmission.

Level Ten trannies are gold. A few members in the past got them and loved them.

Well, then make that over $4,000 for juice and a good transmission.
